Shannon's yurt was the perfect place to spend a rainy day. The photos on the listing are accurate. The wood stove kept us warm all day & night. (At the time of writing, they start you out with some wood for the stove and then you pay $8 a bundle after that.) The skylight at the top was all the light we needed for most of the day. And there is a state park with trails right across the street!!
The food prep/cook situation was similar to car camping - a coleman double burner stove, some plates/cups, some utensils, a pan or two. If you have specific prep needs, I suggest communicating with Shannon beforehand so you all can figure out if they can provide it or you oughta bring it.
Shannon was very helpful and communicative! Everything we needed, she was able to help us out, including finding the house, which was a little tricky.
It's not stated on the listing, and I think it's helpful to know: you will need a 4wd or all wheel drive vehicle to drive up to the yurt, especially during any precipitation or icy conditions. We did not have that so we parked at the bottom and walked up the hill - somewhere between 50 and 100 yards. *This site is not ADA accessible*
Highly recommend Shannon's yurt if you have no accessibility needs and are down for a low amenity glamping situation!! I would definitely love to return!!
