Bryan’s land was a perfect getaway. Exactly what we were looking for. A place our dogs could have free range to run off leash and for us to have a good balance of being outdoors but knowing we were in our own private place to relax. We will definitely be back.

We had such a wonderful time exploring the property! It was a perfect distance for a nice get away from New Orleans. The host was friendly and helped answer any questions we had. We were pleasantly surprised by all the amenities in the train car. As an avid rail fan this really sold the experience. Our dogs had a blast wading through the creek and there were many opportunities to take a beautiful stroll around the land. We even saw a full sky of stars for the first time in ages. I was also grateful for the covered patio during a rainy night. We will definitely be recommending to friends and hope to be back one day. Thanks so much for having us!

Pleasant 2-day Getaway
The Choo Choo was perfect for our weekend getaway. A mix of rustic sheltering caboose properly outfitted with a substantial tin roofed covered deck and hot/cold outdoor shower that kept us civilized and clean (during a somewhat rainy weekend getaway). Loved the train ruins and lay of the property. The wildflowers were blooming and the birdsong was a varied delight. Private and peaceful. 100% would return to stay again and explore more. Bryan clearly communicated everything we needed for our stay and was courteous.

Fantastic weekend, we had so much fun. Loved that Bryan only has one group at a time, private camping. Clear creek to splash in. Lovely walks through the property. My son loved the old train cars. Our pups could be off leash, that ran and played themselves to exhaustion. We spent a lot of our time teaching our son wilderness skills and exploring. We will definitely go back, next time in warmer weather so we can spend more time in the creek.

Great amenities, beautiful property
The camping setup at the Choo Choo was exactly what my husband and I were looking for as we sought to "get away" for our anniversary. You can choose your experience, from primitive to almost cabin camping. Because our stay included a few thunderstorms, we decided to stay at the traincar, but opted to put up our tent on the covered porch. This kept us well protected from the rain, and we were able to prepare our meals on the propane grill on the porch. There is also a small charcoal grill if you'd rather. The boxcar was well fit out with a small kitchen, a larger sized mini fridge, sink with running hot and cold water, and various pots, pans, and utensils. Even a hot plate (didn't heat very high) and a slow cooker. The bathroom with flushable toilet, sink and door is inside the hallway. The entrance/bedroom is a rustic little space with an air mattress on a platform, fan, and a small window ac unit. There is also a small electric heater if you need, which we did. Two outdoor showers with hot water top off the amenity list. It was great fun showering with a view to the wetlands just beyond the site. We arrived at night so didn't really have the lay of the land before heading to bed. We were awakened by a loud metal-dragging sound from the woods. Bryan, who is a super host, assured me no one was on the property but us. The next day when we were able to explore, we found a deer feeder, which was likely dropping food on an automated schedule. Mystery solved.
