Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Our one-acre property offers a spacious front area with ample room to accommodate an SUV and a few tents.. The rear of the property is entirely wooded, featuring a quaint walking path that invites you to explore the serene landscape. Pop-up campers can fit in the space, but it is tight and not recommended. Just a short 4-minute stroll down our secluded street leads to public access to Lake Huron. Here, you'll find a largely undiscovered public beach, its seclusion due to the unique location making it an ideal spot for quiet relaxation by sandy shores. For those looking to enjoy local culture and dining, we are conveniently situated approximately 10 minutes from both Tawas City and Au Gres, each offering an array of charming shops and restaurants. This setting perfectly blends accessibility with a retreat into nature, providing a peaceful haven where you can watch the sunset over Lake Huron then return to the woods for an evening of solitude. Our one-acre property is perfectly laid out to maximize both convenience and enjoyment of nature. At the front, there is plenty of room to park an SUV, maybe even a campervan, with extra space available for setting up a tent or two. ๐Ÿ•๏ธ. As you move towards the back, the land transforms into a fully wooded area, complete with a charming walking path that winds through the trees ๐ŸŒฒ. Just a brief 4-minute walk from the property down a quiet, secluded street is a hidden gem: public access to Lake Huron. Here, you'll find a pristine, underutilized public beach, offering a peaceful escape and stunning views of the lake's vast sandy shores ๐ŸŒŠ. The beach's secluded location makes it a perfect spot for those seeking tranquility and a private experience with nature. For a touch of local culture and dining, our property is conveniently located about 10 minutes away from both Tawas City and Au Gres. Each town boasts a delightful selection of charming shops and restaurants, perfect for a leisurely day out ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ๐Ÿ›๏ธ. This property seamlessly combines easy access to local amenities with a peaceful retreat into nature, providing an ideal backdrop for watching the sunset over Lake Huron before retreating to the tranquil woods for a serene evening.

Itโ€™s a cute spot, the main attraction being the beach thatโ€™s a short walk from the campsite. We spent so much time by the lake, it was exactly what I wanted!

we had a great time on Joeโ€™s land! we stayed for 4 nights and really have no complaints. the spot is a bit close to the road, but we had no issue pulling right up to the site. we also had no issue finding a spot for our big tent. the short walk to the beach was perfect. there were a few cars that went by throughout the day but again, we did not mind one bit. there were a few critters and lots of cool mushrooms around on the land. we would definitely camp with Joe again! ๐ŸŒฒ๐Ÿ„

Honestly this was super disappointing especially for the price. This spot is definitely not vehicle accessible unless you drive a truck, parking on the road feels sketchy especially with folks zooming by on atvs and flying by in trucks. Finding a flat spot for my tent was hard, stumps everywhere. For $45 youโ€™d think the spot would be a little graded. Not having a fire ring at all is a sure way to start a forest fire. Walking to the beach was uncomfortable because you have to walk through someone elseโ€™s property across the street. I feel like the description for this spot was really misleading and Iโ€™m disappointed. There was also a jug of Roundup sitting in the woods. So poison is being used. Not cool.

This was a great site if youโ€™re looking for a somewhat private lot away from other campers! It is close to the road, with a couple people driving up/ down throughout the day and night which was a bit unfortunate, but the land was beautiful and so close to the water which was amazing! There is a cool path in the woods behind the lot which where fun to explore, it definitely will be a bit wet/ muddy back there if you get any rain though! Still fun :)

Nice in the Woods for me
16 ft car
I personally liked the spot. My smaller truck pulled in and it was serene. The beach while technically allowed to be there I felt like I was trespassing. As a single male I felt secure. My partner said she would not have had she been there. Felt a tad like trespassing on property but no one bothered me
