Once the location of a ski resort, this property was bought up by the competition and dismantled. Sitting on top of the old ski hill, this 10 acre property now offers a beautiful view of Barney Lake and the surrounding state forest. This property is situated near a dirt road that leads directly into hundreds of miles of off-road trails and state forest, yet is close enough to town (7 miles) to enjoy the local establishments. No access to the lake is available from the site, but there are plenty of other lakes and rivers in the area to enjoy!Set up your tent, RV, or camper with a beautiful view of the surrounding state forest and overlook of Barney Lake.  Located just 2 miles off 127, enjoy this private site with fire ring and picnic table.  Access to miles of off road trails, state land, and quick access to Houghton and Higgins Lakes or the Muskegon River for boating, kayaking, and tubing.  Located just 7 miles from town, this allows for a quick trip to get supplies or enjoy local establishments.  Northern Michigan is a beautiful place to camp in the summer, but remember to bring your mosquito repellent!

The spot was gorgeous and well maintained. The porta potty was very clean and big free. I would recommend site to others.

Amazing spot. Gorgeous view. Really cool trails. Clean bathroom with sink to wash hands. Will be renting again.

VERY clean bathroom/outhouse! Wonderful location, firewood was great, the google doc the host provides at reservation time had awrsome local suggestions of places to eat and things to do (get the feta dip!). Can't wait to stay again and stargaze.

We loved staying on Adam and Sarah's land! Reviews are spot on, and the port-a-potty was the nicest I've ever been in. There was a lot of care in the details of the property. It was the most level campsite we've ever stayed. It was so easy to set up! The views were serene, and the area is quiet. The mowed path around the property had chairs and a hammock to discover. We had a wonderful weekend away and would love to stay again. It rained most of our trip and they offered to bring us drier firewood. Thanks again for making your property available, we truly enjoyed it!

We truly enjoyed camping at Adam and Sarah’s Barney Lake Vista site. The views were great and the quietness was the best. The port-a-potty was the cleanest I have ever been in. The directions to find the site were easy to follow and they were prompt with communications. We will definitely stay there again!
