This 20-acre property is surrounded by public land and is a short hike to Rapid River, which is nestled in a valley of giant cedars and white pines. The property has trails through a hardwood forest of maples, beeches and cherry trees. There is also an open meadow that boasts an abundance of wildlife. The property is secluded on a deadend two-track less than two miles from US-131 between Kalkaska and Mancelona. Torch Lake is only a 20-minute drive and Traverse City is about 50 minutes away. There is a clean porta-potty and water can be provided on request. Also, a 4-person tent can be provided at an additional cost. The campsite has a fire ring, shovel and plenty of wood for late night fires. The Raven's Nest is a cozy 12 x 16 cabin. It is an off-grid experience with a wood stove for winter adventures. The property is a work in progress, with a goal of it becoming an eco-retreat with updated accommodations. We hope you return for more adventures to see the progress. In the meantime, enjoy!

Raven's Nest - Cabin in the woods
Excellent stay - Raven's Nest Cabin
As our inaugural guests at Todd's cabin, we were treated to a truly special experience! From the moment Todd personally guided us to this secluded gem, our comfort was his top priority. Stepping inside the charmingly arranged cabin, we were instantly impressed by the thoughtful touches that awaited us. The impeccably clean amenities, including the well-maintained porta-john, exceeded expectations, while the neatly stacked, dry firewood fueled cozy evenings by the crackling woodstove. Immersed in complete tranquility, the secluded lane offered privacy, with not a single neighboring building in sight. After hiking/exploring, we enjoyed warming up by the outdoor fire ring, adding another layer to the peaceful ambiance. It's important to note that the cabin is semi-off-grid, offering a unique back-to-nature experience. Guests can enjoy the optional solar-powered backup for basic needs, and we did have one bar of 4G for cell service. For anyone seeking a unique and deeply relaxing escape in a secluded woods, Todd's cabin is an absolute must-stay! We highly recommend it to those who cherish the comfort of thoughtful touches amidst the peacefulness of nature.
