Experience the peace and quiet of a sustainable farm while only an hour and a half in all directions to hiking, fishing, lakes and rivers to play in. We are about 2 hours from Mackinaw and the fun of the Island and Fort Michilimackinac, and an hour and a half from Lake Michigan, Traverse City, and Grand Rapids. With so much to do, the peace and quiet of this campground is a great place to relax at the end of the day, enjoy some farm fresh meat on the grill, and plan the next day's adventures. The campsites overlook over 80 acres of hay field and wildlife area. It's a great place for sky watching. The wildlife area has walking paths for you to enjoy. Deer are common. Right next door is Baker's Green Acres, a regenerative working farm with cows, chickens, pigs, and dogs. This is farm country, with open land and lots of quiet. For example, only 16 miles away is Mitchell State Park. White sand, blue water and warm sunlight mesh to make a rockin’ vacation atmosphere at William Mitchell State Park. Whether you’re a fan of skiing, hiking, snowmobiling, fishing or swimming, you can give your next outdoor excursion a dash of something special here. Enjoy the celebratory vibe that comes along with seasonal festivals and top-notch picnicking on 300+ acres between Lakes Mitchell and Cadillac, or head out on the Mitchell-Heritage nature trail for superb wildlife viewing. There is a creek within walking and biking distance of the campground, plus good fishing just up the road a few minutes. Come on over and visit the farm while you're here! You can pick up eggs from the hens, pet the cows, and laugh at the antics of the pigs. Pets are allowed. Please make sure you pick up after them.

Great experience!
Simply Sublime! I got to chat with Mark when I arrived and learned about the farm and the work they do. I got my choice of sites and popped my tent under the big shade tree. There was water at my site and a toilet close enough. The sheep came around to say hi every now and then. It was so peaceful and open and lovely. Starry night, pure Michigan. I would highly recommend!

Incredible Legacy Eco Farm!
I LOVE Baker’s Green Acres! A beautiful, vast, and meticulously laid out property with tons to see and do. The campsite is fenced off beside the actual farm & Mark’s (Hipcamp host) home. There’s 6 spacious spots with picnic tables overlooking a wide grassy hay field. My little dog loved jumping about the tall grass! Fresh well water available too! If you have the chance, get to know the Hipcamp hosts and their journey in caring for their 20 year old regenerative farm! It’s incredible to learn how they give to the land and receive the fruits of their labor in abundance each season. Great conversation, and yummy farm fresh goods for sale, I left feeling inspired and content - in my heart and my gut haha! Highly recommend staying here, and I can’t wait to be back! :)

Remote, peaceful farm
Stayed on Mark's field during a trip to Lake City. The sites face east, so if you arrange your car to block the sun, it's comfortable past daylight. Very quiet and scenic. One site has a water spigot. I never did find the "composting toilet." Good value compared with state parks. I'd bring my solar shower bag for next time.

Peaceful Meadow Baker's Green Acres
Excellent experience!
We loved this spot so much, we wound up staying for three weeks! The sites are well spread out and we had plenty of room. It's incredibly peaceful out here. The hosts were quite welcoming and friendly and we loved visiting their farm and seeing the pigs, chickens and cows. Major bonus - they had fabulous fresh milk and eggs available to purchase each week. We also loved the ground beef and pork sausage. Our family will absolutely come back to visit again!
