7 m pop-up camper · With kids
We camped in our pop-up at Annette's hipcamp. It was a last minute booking and found it to be a great deal for the price! There was a mowed area at the edge of a field, adjacent to a little pond, with a nice little firepit and a couple chairs provided that made for quick and easy set up. Yes, there is a stone house within view but it was my understanding that no one is residing there. We enjoy our privacy and liked that we were able to check in and out without being required to meet and chat with our host.
My son and I enjoyed exploring Anette's property, and I quickly wished we had been tent camping there instead. There are many great spots all throughout that would be great to hike into and pitch your tent for a night. If I'm ever in the area again, I plan to rebook this hipcamp, but bring our tent instead!
We went to the beach twice during our 1 night stay - as it was only a 3 min drive down the road. We also found that the lighthouse was within walking distance from that beach access point (very convenient!)
**We did a little rock hunting along the shores of Lake Huron, but my 8 year old found his favorite find of the entire trip at this hipcamp. (a palm sized puddingstone about halfway up one of the bluffs on the property). He was very happy and proud of his find :) **
