Star Field Campground
Peace, Stars, and Birds
Beautiful area and star gazing like none other. As a seasoned camper and Professional Disc Golfer, you cant have tee markers, baskets, and camping site posts all within feet of each other. It was like finding Morrison’s grave navigating the field and I still never found 5 of the sites supposedly there?? Very quiet and beautiful. Seemed to be a communication break down between Host and Park employees as I had note on my car telling me to pay again when I paid in full on Hipcamp. Kinda made me feel a little uneasy if parties aren’t communicating if an emergency happened. Very cool and beautiful park and Conservancy though.

Private Pond Side Camping
We ended up staying at the starfield campsite due to it being more remote, not this exact listing. Although this listing was very nice, and private, it was much closer to town and therefore a bit more noise, we opted to be a bit farther out. The folks at Whiterock were more than accommodating, we had a fantastic stay. What an incredible place, we will be going back, without a doubt!! I would strongly recommend, they had a little bit now of something for everyone and everything was extremely well kept.

This place was an amazing experience! The camp sites was perfect, and the new wooden bathrooms and hot showers was great!

This has to be the prettiest place in Iowa. I would recommend staying here. It was unexpected and lovely. I took campsite 11 which is the most remote (still drive in though) and couldn't have asked for more. Even their port-a-potty was nice and smelled better and was cleaner than most public restrooms I've been in. I can't describe how cool this place is. Just come stay for a night or few. You won't be disappointed.

The info that is representative of this campground is not correct to what is allowed or offered at this site. It would benefit you to call the campground direct with questions. the campground is well taken care of. If you want to take a van or small camper to your site you have to reserve 1,2,12 or 13 only. As the others do not allow for a car to be parked near camping areas. My reservation through hip camp was not a guarantee that my site chosen would have been there when we showed. As only the sites 1,2,12 and 13 can be reserved.
