Anna is a Star Host
Star Hosts are highly rated, responsive, and committed to providing incredible experiences.
Come enjoy the natural beauty of a working farm! In our transition to agroforestry, wetland restoration and perennial ag, you'll find some great spaces to walk your dog, let your children run and learn about ecological conservation. The farm is also home to a flower cutting garden, a food forest garden, and a folk school. Guests are welcome to cut flowers for a donation, and enjoy the sheep, chickens and resident cat. The setting is also great for taking in sunrises, sunsets and star gazing.
Come explore the landscape, book a farm tour or enjoy some studio space at Land Alliance Folk School.
Anna and Dave’s campsite is a tranquil escape, with many visitors praising the serene atmosphere and the welcoming nature of the hosts. Many campers appreciate the beautiful farm setting, complete with gardens and cute animals, and a community kitchen and restrooms that exceed typical camping expectations. The Indigo Pod offers a quiet retreat for those looking to unwind, while the farm itself provides plenty of room for exploration. While most reviews are positive, one camper noted they chose a hotel instead and didn't receive any follow-up from the hosts.
I had an amazing stay in the Indigo Pod on Anna’s property! It was a perfect place for a reset after the busy holiday season. It was quiet, comfortable and relaxing with no distractions. I was able to journal and catch up on some reading during my stay. The supply of hot tea and kettle were a lovely touch. I enjoyed a cup as I watched the fog roll over the Iowa farm fields in the mornings. There is also a community kitchen where I could prepare nutritious meals instead of getting take out. Being able to roam the property and be in nature also helped with my holiday reset! I highly recommend Anna’s place to anyone wanting time away to refocus and relax. It has everything you need without the distraction!
Anna was so gracious, even as I surprised her by arriving 20 mins after booking. It's so clear that she enjoys hosting people. Her indoor space was wonderful for my morning meditation too.
My friend and I stayed in the flower shed. It was one of the few locations I could find to stay after the college football game. When we returned after the game, the shed was lit with a beautiful set of 3 door frames with branches and lights. The soft lights helped in relaxing after the game and were soft enough to leave on all night. Only a young girl at heart could have thought up such a wonderful place for people to stay and relax, if even for a one rainy night. I can't wait to come back and stay when the flowers are all in bloom as the pictures show. This is a place one can come and disconnect from the world and sit enjoying the peace and quiet of the surroundings. Looking over my calendar for next year planning a few weekend trips already!!!!
The place is beautiful, and Anna and Dave are great hosts -- very responsive to questions and requests. We have camped here three times and are planning on coming back in 2025, too.
Great folks. Very hospitable. Nice kitchen setup and bathrooms available. Back to the land mindfulness and educational. Wonderful to fall asleep listening to the rustling leaves.
A great weekend getaway on a peaceful farm. The communal kitchen was so nice to have, the flowers around the shed were pretty, walks around by the sheep were fun, and the farm cat was friendly. All the camping fun with some nice added comforts.
