Site 12 - Kayak Morris Riverside Tent Camping
Great place to camp along the Illinois River. Hosts were great to work with and great communication, the camp areas are rustic but nice to have a picnic table and fire ring. Checking in was super easy and friendly. There are other campers within eyesight, but the campsites are far enough apart that you are not bothered. There was one camper who had somewhat louder music during the early evening, but it was off well before the 10PM quite time. I liked that the hosts run a tight ship with keeping campers adhering to the rules, and also the safety aspects. From a birding perspective, I saw multiple Terns and Gulls, 2 Bald Eagles, and some Turkey Vultures. Will definitely go back.

Amazing place! We love our spot number 14. We had the surprise with the unexpected campfire we could cook in it. Perfect for groups of all ages! Plenty of activities around. Kayaking, fishing and hiking. Definitely we will come back

Hassle free camping
We had a great experience. Site 14 was a little harder to reach compared to other sites, but still very manageable. Everything was well maintained and clean. Being steps from the river was great.

Pretty camp on the River
Views were pretty, the directions to get to the gate are clear. Lots and lots of rules. Waivers that need to be signed. Signs for each campsite are a little hard to find and read. Road is difficult to drive down in a smaller vehicle. But if you look past all the rules and difficulties getting to the campsite, it’s a pretty stay for the night.
