We are a 5th generation family farm on the slopes of Haleakala, located in the old farming area of Olinda, just a 3 mile drive up from historic Makawao town. Our great grandfather purchased a 50 acre ranch in 1957 as his retirement, homestead dream. With rolling hills of pastures bodering a 1000 acre state forest, our farm is the ideal location for a secluded camping getaway with uninterrupted views of Maui and the ocean below. This site is a tent or sprinter van/truck/car camping spot. It has an off grid bathroom that is powered by a Jackery brand battery generator that also includes solar panels for additional charging with multiple ports for phones, etc. The toilet is powered by the generator and is a proper house style toilet that flushes, with running non potable sink water that is from catchment and not suitable for drinking or cooking. PLEASE NOTE you will need to pack in and bring your own drinking water. Back Pasture Camping
We loved staying here. It had a fantastic outlook over the valley, there was great communication with Nina who met and escorted us to the camp spot making us feel safe and the toilet was clean! This spot was great, the beautiful sunset and sunrise views an added bonus.

Back Pasture Camping
Starry night, beautiful view!
Nina was great with communication and so gracious to video chat since we were having a tough time finding the spot. It didn’t help that we got there late at night, but the starry night was stunning with a beautiful view of the city. Wish I had gotten there with day light to enjoy it more, but I would definitely recommend it.

Back Pasture Camping
Hidden gem in farm country Maui
Our first impressions upon coming up to the site was, where is this place, but after easy communication with Nina and Ash we were able to get settled in quite well. The back pasture was serene and peaceful. The horses was a welcoming site, watching them graze, and views were one of a kind. The overlook to Maui was incredible, seeing the coast on both sides, the sunset was impressive, and the stars at night were the best we've seen from any of the campsites we stayed at. If we come back we will definitely have to stay here again. Thank you Nina for the wonderful stay.
