The Mountain Haven
Great hosts. They had excellent communication. It was cold out and they had fire started for our arrival. There was firewood, and firestarter all provided too. They helped us transport our gear, but it wasn't a far walk at all. We are experienced minimalist primitive campers, so this was a luxurious treat. Nice waterproof tent with a queen bed, sheets, pillows and blanket. Outdoor couch, picnic table, dishes, lanterns, firepit, grate, cast iron, kettle, etc. Potty tent was great. They provided us with two water jugs. You could show up with no gear and virtually no camping experience and be very comfortable. They did warn us about the potential for bears as everywhere in the area. They said to be more concerned about the cats. We nicknamed the two black cats Bear One and Bear Two. :) They provided great entertainment. The site is tucked away where it's private and secluded but really easy to get to town. I have Verizon and got cell service here. I'd definitely recommend this spot if you are an experienced camper or not. My only note would be to add a tarp over seating area for rain/shade. Maybe a little dishwashing/handwash station. It would be easy enough with a water cooler and a bucket. Other than that, it has all the amenities one could hope for and then some. Thanks for a great stay!

So happy to have found this spot. So beautiful and thoughtful. Our hosts were welcoming and even got the fire started for us upon arrival. Made everything so convenient so that we could immediately settle in and relax which is exactly what we were looking for after a long week at work. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Host doesn't respond
Terrible experience. I reached out to the host several times to ask about what items were provided so I knew what I needed to bring. Host did not respond. Day of the trip, I came down with the flu and again messaged the host to ask what could be done since they have a "very strict" cancellation policy. No response. Even when check in time came and went, still no messages from the host. Even now, after check out time, the host has not looked at any of my messages nor responded. This host clearly does not care about their guests and only wants to take money. I have reached out to hipcamp who says I need to speak with the host but the host won't answer! My $130 gone for nothing. I could have stayed in a nice hotel for this price AND they would have answered my requests and refunded me by now. What a terrible business Hipcamp is and they're fine with having shady, greedy hosts. BEWARE!

Cute little mountain campsite!
We loved our stay here! The hosts are extremely accommodating and very hospitable. They provided a few extra touches that really made our stay a pleasant one. The campsite and bathroom were clean and well maintained. We stayed dry even though it rained and the tent was so stinking cute. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Camping place was great. We didn't have any issues. Owners were great and very helpful in prepping, directions and what to do. I'd recommend the place if you have a family that just wants to get away for a few days.

Excellent host & awesome site!
If you are looking for something in between primitive camping & a campground, this is a perfect site for you! It was very private but a short walk to the host's house/where you park your vehicle. You are not able to pull up & unpack at the site so keep in mind you will have to transport any gear from the vehicle to the site - it was an easy, short walk but still a walk. That is also where the portapotty is so keep in mind it will be a mostly wooded walk to the bathroom. The deck area is AWESOME. We didn't get to enjoy the site or surrounding land to the fullest because it rained a LOT but we got one dry night for a campfire which was spectacular. My absolute favorite part was the beautiful deck and seating she has set up. The little yurt was so cute and Jessica had it set up SO nicely as well. There is room at the site for an additional large tent (the yurt is very small, only enough room for the bed - which is 2 twins pushed together but with the pole in the middle - and a few things around the edges). Jessica's hospitality & communication was amazing. She was there if we needed her but did not interfere with privacy at ALL. Having water at the site was PERFECT. She also had many things at the site already like firestarters, some wood, matches, a lantern, and a few other things! All in all it's a perfect little spot for a private site in the woods with extra amenities like the beautiful deck to add a little glam to your camping experience.
