Embracing Nature's Classroom: A Journey into the Heart of Agroforestry In the heart of our bustling city lies a hidden gem—a five-acre agroforestry site seamlessly integrated with a wildlife refuge, offering a sanctuary for both humans and nature. This unique haven challenges traditional farming norms, embracing permaculture principles and providing a holistic education on sustainable living. The Agroforestry Oasis: This agroforestry site thrives as a harmonious blend of natural elements. The farm, rich with diverse flora, serves as a testament to the possibility of cultivating food in harmony with nature. With a natural pond reflecting the sky and a cypress forest providing shade, the site is a living example of how agricultural practices can coexist with the environment. Wildlife Refuge: Surrounded by a city environment, the wildlife refuge within the agroforestry site stands as a testament to the resilience of nature amidst urbanization. Birds, insects, and small mammals find solace in this haven, creating a unique urban wildlife ecosystem. The refuge highlights the importance of preserving green spaces within cities for biodiversity and ecological balance. Permaculture Education: Classes on permaculture gardening and natural cooking form the core of the educational experience offered on the site. Participants learn not just about cultivation but also about the interconnectedness of ecosystems. These classes empower individuals to apply permaculture principles in their own lives, fostering a sense of responsibility towards the environment. Campfire Gatherings: At the heart of the agroforestry site lies a community space, where campfires flicker at individual camping sites and merge into a grand communal fire. This space fosters a sense of community, encouraging shared experiences and conversations under the open sky. It exemplifies the essence of coming together to appreciate and learn from nature. Nature's Unfiltered Beauty: Unlike manicured gardens, this facility proudly stands in its natural state. The untamed beauty of the landscape contributes to the existence of a diverse array of wildlife. Visitors are invited to witness nature as it is, fostering a deep appreciation for the raw, unfiltered beauty that often goes unnoticed in our modern, structured world. Invitation to Experience: This isn't just a description; it's an invitation. Come, explore, and experience the magic of this agroforestry site for yourself. Feel the connection between nature and sustainable living, learn about permaculture, and revel in the simplicity of a campfire under the stars. Witness the beauty that emerges when humans and nature coexist harmoniously. In this city oasis, the agroforestry site isn't just a piece of land; it's a living, breathing classroom where the lessons are taught by the wind in the trees, the rustling of leaves, and the vibrant life that thrives in every corner. It's time to appreciate nature and learn about how it works, not just as observers but as active participants in the dance of life. Are you ready to embark on this journey into the heart of agroforestry? Come see for yourself. Nature is waiting to share its secrets with you.Unlike manicured gardens, this facility proudly stands in its natural state. So FL Permaculture Farm
Could be Better
Overall it was just ok. I did get to camp which was the best part, but the accommodations were lacking. Walking up to the campsite it was clearly not well maintained - old furniture with weeds growing around and broken slabs of wood and marble just thrown on ground. The campsite was overgrown with vegitation which may be part of the “farm” aspect but not very accommodating for a campsite. There was also garbage left on the campsite. I had requested two bundles of wood for fire (which cost money) and they brought branches from a large tree over to campsite which were also wet - so needless to say it was unusable. The location of the fire pit was not in a very fire friendly location - again the overgrown weeds/vegatation would have been burned. In the middle of the night you could hear loud music which kept us up most of the first night -music did not end until 3am. Overall it resembled a homeless camp site. The location did not seem too well maintained but I did get to camp and that was most important.

So FL Permaculture Farm
Authentic Florida ecosystem
Absolutely loved camping here, our host George was informative and very accommodating. The paths were very clear and the community areas very well kept, a great opportunity to learn about permaculture and the importance of maintaining our wildlife and flora. 10 out of 10 will stay again. Great views and very well maintained!

George caretakes this land with so much love and intention. It was the perfect peaceful space to collect myself and experience some healing. The opportunity to feel isolated in a forest in Florida is a rare one, and I am so grateful to George for opening this space to travelers. Take the tour, learn about the food and medicines surrounding you. Enjoy deep, philosophical, meaningful conversation along the way. Thank you for a beautiful experience 🙏💙

Loved the tent camping site, land is beautiful and secluded while still being close to anything you may need. Also only about 30 minutes from the beach. Host was super friendly and informative. Overall great experience.

Great spot and great host. George is doing wonderful things with this property and is very knowledgable about permiculture. Glad to support him. Highly suggest staying here. We stayed at site 1 and it was super comfortable. Tucked back in the jungle. Beautiful place to wake up. We enjoyed hanging by the fire in the evening. It's close to everything. Can't wait to come back!
