Luxury glamping with sea views near Seaton, Looe and the South Cornwall coast.

Take cabins so luxurious that David Beckham and Gordon Ramsay have them installed in their own back gardens, place them in a acre-and-a-half of Cornwall's finest countryside with magnificent sea views, and you have the family-run site of Lydcott Glamping. The ice-cool igloo-esque design of these unique cabins has made them a firm favourite among celebrities and, at Lydcott near Looe, guests can experience them first-hand, before nipping down to enjoy the plethora of beaches along the nearby coast.

Lydcott Glamping was the first in the UK to acquire the Estonia-built cabins, with husband-and-wife team Emma and Rich seeking out something a little different to the usual shepherds huts or bell tents. The head-turning look of the cabins is complemented by their stylish and modern interiors, with each cabin colour-coordinated from its cutlery to its bedsheets. Look out the window and you’ll see the sea, and after a five-minute drive, you can go and take a dip in it – Seaton is the closest beach and a popular spot for both swimming and watersports, with kayaks and paddleboards available to be hired right from the coast.

Emma describes Lydcott as “high-end glamping that’s also down-to-earth”, meaning that while these are some of the best-looking cabins you’ll find, this site isn’t without its unique quirks and personal touches. For one, it's still a working farm, so you can expect to be greeted by one of the 45 chickens – yes, that’s forty-five – that roam around. No need to bring your own eggs, then, as there will be more than enough to pick up here, next to an honesty box also reserved for the firewood you can buy for your firepit. You can also expect lovely personal touches, such as a special welcome pack for your dog that includes a towel and a long tether for them to play outdoors, and a weatherboard that shows the forecast for the duration of your stay. There’s a reason why Lydcott’s guests leave this lovely Cornish haven such glowing praise.

The Pasty cabin
Excellent choice for a holiday
We booked the Jam First and Pasty cabins for 3 nights and had a great experience. Emma and Rich are very nice and helpful during the whole process. A lot fun and good memory having BBQ and camp fire. Dogs seems really enjoyed themselves and made lots of friends there as well.

Great scenic location, great hosts. The accommodation was fun and quirky. The location was well maintained with some nice touches such as outdoor lighting and swing-ball. Ample parking. Even the weather was great-ish!

Multi-award winning Lydcott Glamping is a luxury Cornish retreat nestled in a quiet rural location just outside Looe. It has stunning sea views and beautiful unique wooden-clad cabins. With an EV charger on site, no need for range anxiety for those with electric vehicles. Each cabin is fully heated and fitted and furnished with stylish comfort in mind, including en-suite facilities with fluffy towels, a well-equipped kitchen and naturally, huge downy queen sized beds. Head outside to discover your very own fire pit and barbecue, complete with seating for late-night stargazing over toasted marshmallows. Dreckly cabin even has its very own outdoor hot & cold plunge tub in its secluded secret garden with sunset views. Located next to a working farm, you can really experience a taste of rural Cornwall. Enjoy freshly laid eggs for your breakfast, and watching the much-loved chickens free ranging the site – you can even meet them and have a cuddle if you ask the owners! This little Cornish haven is ideally located to explore Cornwall. Or just relax, and enjoy everything the site itself and local area has to offer. From the many stunning beaches (less than 10 minutes away), to cute little Cornish coastal villages, the famous and breath-taking South West Coast Path, Adrenalin Quarry’s giant inflatable water park and zip line, wine tastings, Alpaca Trekking and much much more.
Nearby attractions

The close proximity to the coast means that the beaches are the prime attraction here. Seaton is the obvious choice, a pebble beach with a promenade you can walk along that is also part of the South West Coast Path – a 630-mile stretch taking in some of the region’s best coastal sites. If you’d prefer a sandy beach, the popular East Looe beach is also near by in just under a 15-minute drive, with easy access for kids and a pier from which you can watch the boats come in. For days that aren’t quite beach weather, drive 10 minutes down to Seaton Valley Countryside Park, which boasts a nature reserve featuring otters, kingfishers, and more, along with a stroll along the River Seaton.

Food and drink

The Copley Arms is the local, less than a five-minute drive away or a 30-minute walk, strongly recommended by your hosts and boasting live music, quiz nights, and a riverside beer terrace. The Fish Market in Looe is a four-mile drive, located on the quayside with a menu consisting of fish sourced directly from the boats that pull up outside its doors each day – you don’t get much more authentic than that. The Sardine Factory serves a modern coastal menu and you might need to book a table (01503 770262), overlooking the harbour and with a menu served by award-winning chef Benjamin Palmer.
