Peaceful nature getaway
Lovely convenient stay out in a quiet, nature filled location. We saw deer, quail, and there’s also a very friendly cat on the property. Rachel and her husband are extremely responsive and helpful to any concerns. There’s a kitchen with all appliances provided and the restroom is conveniently located. We stayed during a rainy night and were able to stay warm with the wood stove and enjoyed the loud rain sounds on the roof. The wood burning sauna and outdoor tub are a perfect way to end the day under the stars. Just a short and easy drive away from downtown Nevada City and Grass Valley.

Great Yurt, Responsive Hosts
We loved staying in the Yurt on Rachel's property! Felt private even though the property was shared. The Yurt was full of extra special goodies made by Rachel - so cool! Rachel's binder with instructions and tips for local stuff was very helpful. The outdoor tub by the sauna was amazing for stargazing, and stayed super warm! The shower was pretty difficult to tolerate (not great water pressure, and not very warm water), but to be fair to Rachel it was like 43 degrees outside when we needed to take a shower - not much can be done about the cold as it is an outdoor shower! Was definitely exhilarating! The yurt was decorated beautifully, and we appreciated having lots of chopped logs and kindling ready to go so we could build a fire in the woodstove right when we arrived. Would definitely recommend!

The stay in the yurt was such a nice little escape! The bed and pillows were very comfortable and everything you need in a space is there (cooking utensils, nicely furnished and thoughtful ‘souvenirs’ for purchase if you want). The first night it rained and it was so peaceful listening to the rain on the ceiling while having the wood burning stove going (which, once going, warmed the space really nicely). Short drive to Nevada City and Grass Valley. Had a great time and can’t wait to go back!

Great gateway!
With kids
Our family and I had a great time staying at the yurt, we loved the inside chimney and they had plenty of wood to burn. I really like the compost bathroom it gave me and idea to build one for the future. The outside bathtub was great for a cold shower and overall we had a great experience. We liked that it’s close to other places to explore and it’s big enough to fit our entire family of six.
