Splitrock Farm and Retreat started in January 2021 after a global search of a place to set roots, live off the land, and create an amazing place for recreation, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Splitrock Farm Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers. Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 200 foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. Freckled throughout the hillsides are thousands of humongous granite boulders, offering a prehistoric feel to the landscape. Above all, Splitrock offers unrivaled views. Over 40 miles of coastline includes views to Point Loma, the Carlsbad power station, and the Pendleton Hospital. To the northeast are views of near 11K foot snowy peaks of San Jacinto and San Gorgonio, with rolling hills of De Luz and Fallbrook in the foreground.

The Oak Grove Communal Camping
This was my second time here. It was cooler and a little rainy. All the animals came out too this time.

Peaceful Rock
This camp site was awesome! It was very spread out so it felt like we were out there alone. The views were beautiful. There were cute animals like pigs and goats roaming during the day which was pretty cool. 10/10 would come again!

Hilltop Hideout
This whole 100 acre location is amazing. Up on the hilltops and tons of beautiful boulders and views all around. We loved the animals and trails and the overall set up is great. Good showers and bathrooms and the fact that there is running water at the campsites is amazing. Our family had an absolute blast. We really appreciated the fact that we could get would delivered and Stenya, the onsite host also helped set up the add on canvas tent for our kiddos. Was a very beautiful site and great place. Will definitely be back

Splitrock Valley - Peppertree
Perfect Blend of Comfort-Adventure
Splitrock exceeded expectations with its convenient amenities and friendly service. The campsite was well-maintained, with bathrooms and a wash sink just steps away from our campsite, and I felt that we got solid value on what we paid to stay there. The hosts are incredibly helpful and genuinely care that you have a good stay. A special touch was the nightly visit from the site's maintenance lady, who adds plenty of warmth and conversation!

The Oak Grove Group Camping
We had a great time with four other families in the Oak Grove group site. The kids loved interacting with the pig, alpaca, goats, sheep, and farm dogs. There was lots of room to roam and play. The toilets with bidet, sinks, and washing area were an added bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed our time!
