1895 Weekender Cabin
I would highly recommend staying at Richard’s place. The cabin was beautiful, clean, and quiet. He was laid-back and communicative. The land was stunning with easy to follow trails with a trail map. It was the perfect getaway from the city.

Magical weekend getaway
Writer's Cabin was the perfect weekend retreat. Idyllic, serene and extremely cozy. The kitchen is well stocked and the back deck is magical. It is a huge property complete with hiking trails, deer and beautiful views. The wine and fresh eggs were a treat! Richmond was incredibly communicative and helpful throughout. We didn't want to leave! We hope to be back soon.

A beautiful cabin on amazing land
Beautiful cabin on top of a secluded hill, overall amazing experience. The cabin was clean, comfortable and had one of the most beautiful and unique bathrooms i've ever seen. We had the chance to use the grill to BBQ some local steaks and enjoyed the complimentary bottle of local wine. Hiking trails surrounded the cabin and we really enjoyed exploring the property. Wildlife was abundant and we saw deer, coyote and quail.

Swell Cabin, Peaceful
I ratify past reviews and will add two thoughts. 1) The host has excellent foresight. If you need it - detailed directions, early arrival, spices, signposts on the hiking trails, lawn chairs by the meadow, rain showerhead to wash off the hike, tons of towels, a forgotten shirt mailed to you - he's thought of it and made it easy for you. 2) For long stretches of an afternoon the only sounds in the meadow were birdcalls and the sighing of wind in the trees. There is a barn/office located unexpectedly near the cabin, but peace abides.

Simply perfect! Clean, cozy, peaceful, relaxing and comfortable. The cabin had everything I could ask for. The views to the property and the hills were gorgeous, especially the sun rises. The property and trails were beautiful. Could it have been better....no. And the bottle of wine an added bonus!

Writer's Cabin on Lore Mountain
Staying at the Writers Cabin was amazing! The cabin is fully equipped, while also providing a perfect place to unplug and enjoy a cup of coffee and a good book. The surrounding scenery is beautiful. We truly felt like part of nature as we watched the deer and rabbits graze right outside the cabin. Waking up to the sunrise every morning was the best part! Also, the bathroom feels like a spa. Richmond was a lovely host and gave us a bottle of local wine to enjoy during our stay. He thought through every detail and it shows. Can’t wait to plan our next trip to the Writer’s Cabin!
