This 150 acre slice of heaven contains an isolated private ephemeral stream that has run the last two years from January to July. Located down a narrow bumpy dirt road off of Highway 94 Dutchman Canyon is at 1300 feet above sea level, The temperature in Dulzura remains nice year round. There are many Oaks, Sycamores, Eucylptus, Pepper and Pine Trees on the property. The fire road has been cleared to the top of the grade and a slight ocean view is available down the Otay Valley Road view line for hikers or mountain bike enthusiasts. A hiking trail has also been cleared to a stand of Eucylptus trees on the hillside with a pond area at their base on the west facing slope. The Dulzura winery is located across the valley and we are only 1/8 mile from the General Store of Dulzura. The Tecate Border crossing to Mexico is 10 miles south of the property. Located a few miles west of Deer Valley we have deer in the canyon year round looking for fresh water from the ephemeral stream. A 19th century concrete cistern holds water year round at one location in the stream bed. Please do not burn the dead oak firewood from the property.

My husband and I stayed at this campground with a group of friends, and we had an amazing experience! The sites were well-maintained, spacious, and provided just the right balance of privacy and accessibility. Phillip was very friendly and helpful, always ready to answer any questions or gave us tips about nearby trails and activities. The facilities were clean and conveniently located, making our stay even more comfortable. We loved gathering around the campfire each night and truly appreciated the peaceful atmosphere. Perfect place for a relaxing getaway with friends. We will definitely be back!

Secluded space with plenty of hiking trails to explore. The composted toilet was a bonus. Philip met us at the entrance and directed right to our spot. Great host experience!

Peaceful retreat
I recently enjoyed a peaceful and rejuvenating camping trip on Philip’s beautiful land, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. Tucked away from the city, we were the only campers in our area, making it the perfect private escape. Philip’s dedication to maintaining this piece of nature is evident; every detail has been thoughtfully cared for, creating an environment that feels both welcoming and serene. The property offers some lovely hiking trails and stunning scenery, making it ideal for anyone who loves the outdoors and needs a quiet retreat. I’m already looking forward to my next trip to Philip’s land—this place is a hidden gem!

I loved camping here with my dog! A perfect getaway. Philip was very responsive and even helped me start a fire for my burger! Lol. Had a little difficulty finding the place on google maps but Philip was very helpful in giving directions and guided me to the campsite.

South Creek Car Camp With Tent
Awesome stay, would recommend!
Nice quiet and quant spot! Super peaceful! The site is set pretty far back and even though we had some neighbors, we couldn’t really hear them which was nice. I love that you can have fires here, but just make sure you bring in your own wood to burn, and don’t forget the TP! Compost toilets are available. There are some great hikes that offer amazing views! The road was well groomed, though I did bottom out a bit in my car. It’s doable, but I would recommend a higher clearance than a Dodge Charger! Phillip was very responsive and made sure we had everything we needed! I would love to come back when the creek is flowing! Some cell service was available.
