Camp Ssenippah
Raw land. No improvements at all not even driveway just a dirt track. I hit a big rock. Kind of a joke to call it a campground

I would recommend this site, this site is close to Alturas city. And very private and peaceful. Even during the wildfire season, the site doesn’t feel very smoky.
When we arrived, there’s no other campers stay here, there’s spacious of spaces for campers to stay. Host Robert is welcoming and gave us guidance about nearby point of interests.
Also, the place is about 1 h 15 mins away from Lavabeds NM, which is an awesome place to visit.
The only one thing to improve is guidance has some mistakes, it should be two blue reflection poles instead of orange, and the tent color is light gray-green instead of blue. But the location on google map is accurate, there should have no issue to find and follow it.

I did not stay at this site. After arriving and discovered there was no cell service and the host was not there, I decided to continue driving.

Stayed at small campground on a lake near Alturas for one night. Great. Even Thai food to go in Alturas.

This place was beautiful and very peaceful. I liked how it was close to the neighbors somewhat so that I could feel a little safe and you definitely get that nature feel when you’re camping.
