Milky Way Hip Camp
Dreamy Skies with the Milky Way
My wife and I camp yearly at state parks, and this was our first dry experience; It went exceptionally well, and we would highly recommend this host and experience to others. The Host: Christina promptly reached out to us. We were able to let her know our plans with our trip, and we were able to ask questions and become more prepared on items we may need for our trip. Christina gave us clear instructions, show us around the facility, hiking options available on the facility. The host is very polite, outgoing, and respectable. The campsite experience: We went durning October, so the average temperature was 80 (high of 95 and a low of 45 or 50. We slept with the top of our tent off; you can see the Milky Way and just endless clusters of space dust and stars that litter the sky. There are Giant Shrubs that add a very unique experience along with shade for your tent. The natural look of the soil, along with a maintained campsite adds to endless memories that are unique. Insight: We used single flannel sleeping bags, and it may not be enough if one gets cold easy, but the sky view at any point of the night is priceless. (Bring more Blankets) There are coyotes at night but we did not have any issues with them. I parked my car facing the tent, so I could shine my lights if I needed to during the night.(Saw None, Heard Howls) Outhouse: There is a compost bucket with clear instructions on how to use it. Toilet paper was provided along with disinfecting wipes.(Thank You)
