Guests love staying here: "Dean's acreage is a dream! We stayed there in our motorhome and absolutely loved it. We have two dogs and they are picky about making friends but adored Deans dogs. They are the sweetest and make the camping even more enjoyable. Dean was kind enough to show us his Meadery and the property so we felt comfortable exploring and walking around. We would definitely recommend it for other campers whether you have an RV, tent, van, etc. For reference we comfortably parked our 31 ft motorhome and we were able to hookup to electricity (only available in one spot so inquire with dean!). There is a shower and toilet available for use in a separate building from his home in the backyard."

Oh-Deer-Me

8 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents10 acres · Ridgefield, WA
Secluded private site centrally located just a mile from Interstate 5, and 6 miles from the Interstate 5 / Hwy 205 intersection so most places in Clark County are less that 20 minutes away. Located 10 minutes from ilani Casino, 5 minutes from the Clark County Fairgrounds and amphitheater, and less than 30 minutes from some of the nicest freshwater lakes around. Hosts are avid Flyboarders, Jetskiers, Paraglider Pilots, and Stuart has been climbing since the late 1900's (1974 and up... back in the era where if it couldn't be nailed it couldn't be climbed). This is a secluded, Park Like property with walking trails all the way around it, and some interesting things for kids to spot, especially up Fairy Lane. Walking access is permitted, but you must keep pets on leash and keep an eye on your kids. In the dry season, typically May through the end of September, fires are not allowed, and plese USE EXTREME CAUTION IF YOU CHOOSE TO SMOKE ONSITE. If you are one of those who just tosses your butts in the underbrush, you will be asked to leave for the safety of our property and guests. There is no smoking allowed inside the cabin, bathroom, or anywhere near the sawmill, or any area North of it. There is an active sawmill onsite IES-Sawmill.com. People are welcome to visit, but equipment has the right of way and may not see you. Please avoid the log decks, and especially don't allow children to play on them, as logs can roll at any time. Some of the equipment is big, heavy, and doesn't have the greatest visibility if people walk up un-noticed. Always ensure that the operator sees you, and don't place yourself anywhere where a log that comes loose could run you down. Operating Equipment always has the right of way. There is a climbing wall on the North side of the machine shop. If you are an experienced climber with a partner to belay you can the appropriatte gear, you are welcome to use the wall, please let us know first. If the hosts have time, you may be able to convince them to give you a lesson. We are changing the anchors on our ziplines, so they are not available for use at this time. There is a public bathroom in the middle of the property beside the tree fort. It's well lit and open 24 hours a day. It has a flush toilet and a cold water sink and COLD water shower. The water comes out of the ground year round at about 60 degrees so it's a chilly shower. If you need a hot shower, renting the cabin is your best bet as it comes with a private bath that has a hot shower. We try to keep rules to a minimum, but people seem to find creative ways to cause issues. Please park outside the yellow gate in the parking areas noted on the map. Please park on gravel and DON'T DRIVE OFF THE GRAVEL ROADS ONTO THE GRASS. Anita hates it, as you can cause a fire in the summer, and leave muddy ruts in the wet seasons. If you're driving through the trees, you're doing something wrong. There is plenty of wildlife on the property especially in the couple hours before dark. Best place to spot deer, racoons, pocupines and beaver are down near the pond. Enjoy your stay. Stuart and Anita

Batwater Station is located halfway between Portland and the Oregon Coast on the Columbia River. A private refuge where river otter, beaver, mink, muskrat, seals, raccoons along with threatened Columbia river white tailed deer can be seen. Property has 1,000 feet of boat docks, river deck, and pier. At the pier is a full kitchen, heated bathroom and shower room. Included are 2 outhouses, a fire pit for summer months, a viewing station overlooking the wetlands along with brick charcoal fired barbecue and another propane barbecue. We are committed to your privacy so guests are limited and spread out. High speed internet through out the property. Batwater worked with several agencies when we breeched a levee and flooded 26 acres for salmon and wildlife habitat. Hike along the wetlands and see beaver dams and dens. Batwater is also home for many types of birds including eagles, osprey, tree swallow, purple martins, barn swallows, wood ducks, common and hooded mergansers, mallards, scoots, scaups, grebes, cormorants, great egrets, blue herons, geese and many types of song birds . In the spring and summer see our returning osprey who have. nested on our dock since 2013. There are now 2 osprey platform since a pair of Canada geese choose that as their nesting site as well. Some bald eagles winter here but we have our resident bald eagles Hep and Hope. They arrived in 2003 to start their nest on Crims Island. They still nest there although there old nest tree collapsed in 2020. Many birds migrate here for the winter. Common mammals are river otter, mink, muskrat, raccoons, nutria, coyotes, black tailed and threatened Colombia White Tailed deer. We also are home to native turtles and frogs. Batwater is a working farm with cattle feeding on lush pastures, 2 retired horses and chickens. When eggs are available, we will share some with you. Batwater is a great place to kayak, canoe, paddle board or row during the summer months. We have windy afternoons for windsurfers or sailors. The Columbia River is well known for salmon, and sturgeon. For an extra fee you can moor your larger boat while visiting. There are a volley ball and badminton set ups along with horse shoes during the summer months. We suggest swimming during the summer months when the tide is coming in or slack. You can also walk or drive down to Mayger beach which is popular with locals. There are sandy beaches on Crims island that you can paddle over too. Check out the pictures for more information.

The best camping near Seaquest State Park guide

Overview

About

If brushing up on your volcanism while communing with nature appeals, you'll love Seaquest. It's home to the Mount St. Helens Visitor Center, where you'll find a fascinating collection of info on the history and geology of the volcano.

Stay in one of the five yurts nestled in a wooded area of the park, and it's a short walk to the visitor center. For longer leg stretches, you've got 1 mile of wetland trail and 6 gorgeous miles of woodland trails to hike or bike.

The beautifully forested park affords spectacular wildlife viewing in both wetland and lowland forest habitats. Seaquest occupies over a mile of shoreline on the 10-feet-deep Silver Lake. This shallow body of water was formed when a previous eruption of Mount St. Helens permanently dammed Silver Creek.

Other camping options at the 475-acre, year-round park include 55 tent spaces and 33 utility spaces, most in serene old-growth forest settings. Clean bathrooms, well-kept grounds, and lush scenery get high marks.

Notable campgrounds

  • The park's standard campsites are enveloped in a serene forest setting, offering a classic camping experience.
  • Partial hookup sites provide added convenience for campers seeking a blend of rustic charm and modern amenities.
  • For those seeking full amenities, the T-loop's full hookup sites cater to a more luxurious outdoor stay.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  • Book early, especially for summer stays, as reservations fill up quickly during peak season.
  • Consider visiting during the shoulder seasons for greater availability and a quieter experience.
  • Keep an eye on the park's website for updates on campsite availability and potential cancellations.
  • Explore nearby camping options if Seaquest State Park is fully booked, ensuring you have a backup plan.

When to go

The best time to visit Seaquest State Park is from late spring to early fall, when the weather is mild and the natural beauty is at its peak. Winter offers a unique charm, but be prepared for cooler temperatures and limited access due to potential park closures.

Know before you go

  • Check for any alerts or closures before your visit, as the park may be closed for repairs or due to weather conditions.
  • Remember to purchase a Discover Pass for park entry, available for $30 annually or $10 for a one-day pass.
  • Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash at all times to ensure the safety of wildlife and other visitors.
  • Accessible facilities are available, including campsites, restrooms, and trails, to accommodate all visitors.
  • Take advantage of the park's amenities, such as fire pits, picnic shelters, and the interpretive center for a comfortable and informative stay.
