Tranquil Estate is and ECO tourist site that is located 10 mins north of Cardwell and positioned in between Cardwell and Tully in North Queensland. Tranquil Estate is located at the foothills in a beautiful part of the world called Bilyana that overlooks the magnificent Hinchinbrook Island and waterway. Tranquil Estate has approximately 10 acres of flat grassed area for parking your RV, caravan or camping for the night. We are less than 2km off the Bruce highway and the road into Tranquil Estate is a dirt road that is well maintained. There is a common use fire pit area and two wood BBQ's for use in the middle of the paddock. There is also a potable water tank for washing only. There are no toilets and drinking water available, so being self-sufficient is a requirement. There is a massive 50-year-old Mango tree that provides a heap of shade to sit under and enjoy the environment. Behind the Mango tree are walking tracks that take you across a bridge and into the rainforest. This is a pristine environment that we want to share with our visitors. Please be mindful that we have the usual wild animals that are native to the area (Cassowary's, pythons & snakes, wallabies & kangaroos) that should always be treated with the respect that they deserve. This is a beautiful part of the world to stay, and you will enjoy stopping and recharging your batteries!

If you looking for the perfect place to relax in nature and escape the heat on the coast, then this is where you'll find it. Platypus Pool campsite offers a very private spot overlooking the water. We currently only have one site so you will have the place to yourself. The creek borders the Tully Falls National Park with many huge Eucalyptus trees and rainforest species, moss laden logs and fungus galore in the wet. Wildlife ranges from birds, frogs, butterflies, gliders and possums. Guests are required to be fully self sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. There is no reception for phones etc at the site. Campfires are welcome in the fire pit provided but please check restrictions before lighting a fire. Platypus are regularly seen in the creek and occasionally tree kangaroos visit the property too. We have our own house cow and chooks who are part of the family. Sorry, no pets.

You can purchase take away alcohol from The Tavern in the main shopping area. Woolworth supermarket, chemist, banks and bottles-shops are in Wongaling, about 10 a minute drive.

We also have a nice running creek that you can take a cooling down soak in or just enjoy watching our many wild life that are present throughout the creek, fish , eels and turtles. It's truly a very private and relaxing spot to chill out and enjoy camping for a few days or whatever suits your needs while passing the area. Plenty of fantastic swimming holes nearby including Josephine falls and Babinda boulders very popular spots for tourist and the locals. Site 1 right down on the creek large grass flat space big enough for two families to set up camp. The creek runs around the outside so there are a number of viewing points to see the wildlife mentioned above. A set of solar lights hang over the firepit area allowing for more light while cooking on our wonderful swinging hotplate BBQ. Site 2 Our newer spot work in progress not so ideal for camper trailers. your situated under our tree line away from the main creek but still with your own small dirt track down to the creek. A smaller paver firepit, plenty fine for sitting around an open fire while watching the stars at night. So please check by internal message before confirming your booking that way we can confirm a spot while discussing your needs to ensure you have a clear view of your camping area. Onsite we have our shared outhouse porta toilet which is positioned in the middle of both camping areas for everyone's convenience. Take note of our extras available when confirming your booking. We have only opened 3 x sites at this stage as it's a work in progress :) There are 3 Sites opening 1st September 2024 and only 200m away is a cafe at our Garden Centre for a great coffee 6 days a week! You will need to be self-sufficient however we do have a cold water shower and toilets available between 7am and 5pm in the adjoining Garden Centre. We are located on Tully Mission Beach Road with the bike path between Wongaling Beach and Mission Beach running right past the front gates, so a quick ride into town and plenty of space to bring your boat! We your hosts, (Nancy and Shane) operate the adjoining Garden Centre and Raw Materials yard so there is always something happening and with vast local knowledge of what to do and where to go, we are only happy to help. Opening in September 2024 we have planted a tropical fruit forest plantation as well as citrus orchard and with our 50 beautiful free-range chooks (pets) you will have them wandering around freely, clucking away happily.
