Karoola Station is a working family farm, lucky enough to have frontage and easy access to the Murrumbidgee River near Gundagai in NSW, halfway between Sydney and Melbourne. We are located a short 13km drive off the Hume Highway and only 45 minutes from Wagga Wagga the largest inland city in NSW. Not only is Gundagai the gateway to the Riverina but the Snowy Mountains Alpine area is within a day trip from here too, making it a great central location. We are sheep graziers, and in season, visitors can observe the newborn lambs or freshly shorn sheep. There are no amenities available, self contained camping only. Campfires permitted in designated areas when restrictions aren't in place. Good access for caravans Karoola gives you the opportunity to fish, swim, boat or kayak on the river. You can walk along the riverbank or up onto the rocky outcrop for a great view of the Murrumbidgee floodplain and surrounding farming country or perhaps you would just like to relax with a good book and drink under the huge gumtrees on the riverbank in peace and quiet.  Dogs permitted (see rules).

Absolutely stunning property to camp on, right on the river, quiet and peaceful. Kids loved it here, fishing, kyaking amd playing in the river. Camp fires permitted too. We will be back for sure!!

We loved this spot by the river. So beautiful and not busy. Plenty of space and choice of camping spots right on the river. The steeper part of the road in was still a bit slippery after rain, but nothing a 4wd / AWD couldn't handle. The bird life was amazing. The winery just up the road was a great find too! Thanks so much Sheryl & James, for a great stay.

Perfect Weekend Getaway
A fantastic location. Would thoroughly recommend the Lagoon as a destination to visit. Sheryl and James were very helpful with the pre visit comms, the site was easy to access, extremely tidy and very well set out with fire place with hot plate . Amazing views from the campsite and from the hill in behind ( which is worth the 15min walk ) Nice sandy beach with good fishing on the change of light and plenty of bird life. Sheryl and James were wonderful hosts and we look forward to visiting again in the future. Hamana and Kerry-Lee

Karoola Riverbend
We camp in a caravan (and previously a camper trailer) on this property, and have done for a couple of years now. It is beautiful, the hosts are welcoming and lovely, and it is not too far from home to travel. We love it.
