Zaytuna Farm Eco Hamlet is a highly active Permaculture demonstration site and has been used to teach permaculture to countless international and local students for the past 20 years. It is at the forefront of Permaculture Design, displaying many permaculture principles, and produces an abundance of food and various yields from within its living environment.
Zaytuna Farm Eco Hamlet is a family friendly farm, situated on a sixty six acre (27 hectares) property that fronts Terania Creek opposite the village of The Channon, Northern NSW. The property is completely off-grid and contains 800m of creek frontage with fishing spots, a swimming hole for campers, and abundant wildlife ideal for bird watchers. Zaytuna Farm Eco Hamlet has recently become a community of 8 private residences that share this beautiful property. We kindly ask that campers respect the residents’ privacy, however if you spot them on the common grounds, they are always up for a friendly chat.
CAMPSITE
The campsite is situated on the communal grounds at the heart of Zaytuna Farm Eco Hamlet on flat lawn surrounded by bamboo and the sounds of the rainforest. We also have 10 raised camping shelters on offer, suitable for small tents for 1-2 people. Campers have close access to bathrooms built from eco-friendly shipping containers with composting toilets and warm showers; a fire pit, a kitchen garden to share from, an education/function center (available for hire), a common sheltered area to relax with wifi, and an equipped shared kitchen.
OTHER NOTES
We strictly have a no drug and alcohol policy. Due to our policy and customs, we kindly ask that no pork products enter the property, and that reasonably modest clothing is worn (shoulders down to knees covered is fine) including around the swimming hole.
Please note this is not the place for partying, but a place for connecting with nature and nurturing wellbeing.
We kindly ask that all rubbish is taken off the premise as there are no bins.
Children 7 years and under stay free.

Zaytuna Farm Eco Hamlet is ideally located in the Byron Hinterland - 45mins from Ballina airport, 45mins to Byron Bay, 20mins to the vibrant Nimbin, 12mins to Whian Whian falls (another great place to swim), minutes to Nightcap National Park (currently being restored after floods), and a local general store with laundromat and petrol station just down the road. We highly recommend visiting popular The Channon Markets on 2nd Sunday of each month for live music, entertainment, food and many stalls of handmade goodies at the Showgrounds for a family friendly day out!
