The Stables was a functioning stable, dairy and horse and cart garaging area in the properties heyday many decades ago. The cattle would be walked up a lane, be held in the cobblestone yards you have exclusive use of, be walked into the stalls, where your pizza oven now stands, manually milked, and then turned out to what is now your BBQ area. Its now your next luxe rural getaway. Leave the tent and van behind for this little slice of the good life. Bring your bestie - even your neighbours and your fur baby for a sit back and relax experience. The paddocks to the back of the property are yours to walk to take in the peace and the wildlife. They are abundant with kangaroos and their joeys in the spring so we ask you go quietly and slowly so they can move away slowly. The birdsong is a great way to relax with your book, listening to the sounds of nature.

We are 10 minutes from Kinglake township and 15 mins to Yarra Glen, which means a quick trip if you need supplies. The highway is close by which makes it handy to get out and about. Wildlife we have seen on the property includes Wallabies, Echidna, and an abundance of bird life. Laugh with the Kookaburras at sunset. Dogs are welcome however due to wildlife and the bush location, we ask that you please keep them on a lead at all times. If you are planning on bringing a dog with you, please let us know in advance. We also have horses (separate from the campsite) that campers can feed a carrot if they wish! Water is available from our stables water tank. It is Tank water so not crystal clear but think of it as euculyptus tea! NB: **We do have neighbours and the highway near by so there will be some noise . Would suit campers who want to kick the footy, wade in the river and maybe go 4wding or out and about fishing. Ok to play your own music near the camp fire as you are far enough away down the back paddock! **Not suited to those wanting to be in the middle of nowhere

A camp shelter currently under construction will provide somewhere out of the weather with lighting, water and power available. The property is located 30 minutes from Lake mountain where you can ski during winter or hike and mountain bike during summer. Lake Eildon is also 30 minutes away and a great venue for fishing, swimming and boating. The Acheron, Rubicon and Goulburn rivers are close by and suitable for fishing and kayaking. Mountain bike riders can also try the tracks at Buxton or Eildon. There are many hiking/walking options including the historical Rubicon Valley just 20 minutes away. If you are into 4wd’ing or trail bikes there are many tracks in the Black Range across the road or the Big River area.
