Galahad's Animal Sanctuary and B&B

Feel like getting away? Relax and unwind in our self contained in-house accommodation, enjoying panoramic views of Mt Macedon. Sleep in a luxurious king size four poster bed. You will have a separate entrance, bathroom & kitchenette with modern conveniences such as a coffee machine, microwave & oven.  As well as filtered water, Bluetooth stereo, TV, Netflix, DVDs, WiFi, games & books. Your own fully fenced garden, shared spa, shared outdoor washing machine, dryer & undercover outdoor dining table.

30 picturesque acres in Gisborne with views to Mount Macedon.  We are an animal rescue sanctuary and have rescued camels, horses, sheep, cows, donkeys, alpacas and chickens as well as dogs.  Please note these are very friendly animals, the 18 sheep are particularly friendly and curious.  The sheep roam the property.

The property has two dams, it is well treed with large open parts and has a beautiful view to Mount Macedon.  Kangaroos, possums and echidnas also live here.  

You are welcome to walk the property and visit the farm animals during your stay (as long as you stay on the outside of paddocks/yards).

Access for caravans and trailers. Gravel entrance. Can be boggy in wet weather - please check with me. No amenities so campers must have own toilet and leave no trace. Dogs permitted but must be well behaved and not chase livestock (on lead). Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place (gather your own).

Magic Mountain

Nestled amongst the mountains just outside of the township of Whittlesea our 40-acre property sits above the clouds.  This experience comes with sweeping views, a hidden waterfall, a clear campground, and plenty of wildlife. 

The camping area is accessible by 4WD only, otherwise, strap on a backpack and earn it! (800m walk/hike from where a non-4WD can park). The waterfall is reached by a single trail track from the campsite, and you do need to be an experienced hiker to get to the waterfall. Which is part of the appeal! 

We welcome self-contained campers, who bring their own toilet and take all waste with them. We have a strict Leave No Trace policy.

Or choose to stay in our beautiful A-frame cabin, with plush bedding, cozy fire, and outdoor lounge.  More than anything else this is a place to relax and be away from normal, live outside yourself, and rediscover what weekends are for. 

Dogs are welcome, so long as they don't bother the wildlife. 

Campfires are allowed, BYO firewood or campers can collect fallen timber from the property.

Trevean Homestead

Quiet, peaceful area with
birdlife and wildlife surroundings. Just 1 hr to 1hr 20min travel time to
Spirit of Tasmania (less than 100km), 5 mins from the town centre and 6 mins to the state motorcycle track.

Central Victorian country with cleared undulating paddocks or wooded areas with views of Mount Piper.
Basic bush camping - no amenities so must be self-contained with own toilet and leave no trace. Pets on the application (and must be on a lead at all times).

The owner lives in the house on site, and has knowledge of and contact with the state motorcycle track, has been crew onboard the Spirit of Tasmania and can provide information and assistance with vessel contacts, as well as
helpful contacts in Tasmania.

Some spots available near trees, but generally it's an open natural area.

Other services and amenities may be available at the house with prior application. Be aware some chickens and geese roam freely around the site. Please drive slowly down driveway. Contact Host on or before arrival preferred.

Dromkeen Macdeon Ranges

Heritage listed homestead featuring children’s art and literature. Currently featuring a beautiful exhibition by award winning Australian authors/illustrators Mark Wilson, Leigh Hobbs, Ann James & Gabrielle Wang. Nestled in the Macedon ranges in the tiny hamlet of Riddell’s Creek, Dromkeen is 30 minutes drive from Melbourne Airport. This stately National Trust home has beautiful gardens with a range of Australian native and European plants, a gazebo and two resident alpacas.

We have space in the large carpark for vans, motorhomes, or alternatively the horse paddock for tents and campers. Ample toilets available. Dogs permitted by advance request.

Guests are welcome to visit the Tea Room, open 10am – 5pm Wednesday through Sunday. Our daily menu contains a selection of delicious cakes, devonshire tea, toasted sandwiches, specialty pies and weekly specials and of course, tea and coffee. Breakfast is served all day. 

Browse in the galleries or wander around the beautiful gardens which have trees more than 100 years old, some listed on the National Trust register. Meet our 2 Dromkeen alpacas Hannah and Lilly.

***Please note, we are a rubbish free campsite, so campers are asked to take their rubbish with them. Dromkeen has very clean toilets, but a reminder there are NO showers. Also all sites are unpowered, but upon request prior to arrival a powered spot may be available at an extra $10 a day. Please ring to verify this. During summer months because of fire restrictions we also remind campers there should be NO outside campfires. 

****Also please note, each van or tent is considered a separate booking site and each site is considered a space for 2 adults and up to 4 children. Where there are 2 couples, they are required to make 2 separate bookings.

We will continue to offer Book a Paddock & The Stables as listings for those wanting to camp or have a lux experience. 

Some of you have asked for parties and events. At this time we dont have the infrastructure in place to get this rolling.

Exclusively yours, this acreage of privacy was historically a larger soldiers settlements property comprising a dairy, piggery and wool farming. The quality of the land hasn't changed with most of the region's farmland in use, so this is a cool piece of privacy in the Macedon Ranges.

Currently home to our family, the property is also visited by many native Australian birdlife species, many marsupials including kangaroos, echidna, possums and even a koala.

With close proximity to coffee shops and local stores of Romsey and Lancefield Providore, you have only a few minutes to drive to

stock up on local produce.

Walking the trials around Hanging Rock is a 10 minute drive and Mt

Macedon lookout 15min.
