Fulham Homestead

6 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents68 acres · Kanagulk, VIC
Our property is a 180 year old historic homestead hobby farm with river frontage on the Glenelg River and a wonderful established garden. We have three different listings available at Fulham Homestead: - Fulham Historic Riverfront - Fulham Historic Creekfront - Fulham Homestead Guesthouse Our Guesthouse sleeps up to 8 people and has everything you need for a comfortable stay including two bathrooms and a full kitchen. Unfortunately dogs are not able to stay at the homestead. Our camping sites offer good access for caravans and large motorhomes. All guests staying at the camping listings are required to be fully self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must leave no trace on departure. The camping areas are dog friendly and we also have dogs of our own. You will also get visits from our pet Sheep, local Kangaroos and Wallabies. The Kookaburras will laugh loudly in the mornings and the Cockies will be annoyingly loud some days. This is an ideal base for those that want to do day trips to explore the local area or just plop and drop.

Halls Gap Lakeside Tourist Park

108 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents10 acres · Halls Gap, VIC
Breathtaking views of the mountains, an abundance of Australian Wildlife, spacious powered campsites, excellent facilities, a wide variety of cabin accommodations and a very warm welcome! The perfect base to explore the Grampians. Have a dip in our woodfire-heated outdoor pool and enjoy a campfire at night. No matter if you live nearby or come from afar, you will absolutely love the fact you found this place! Glamping in the Grampians is a way to experience the fun of camping, the beauty of nature, and the luxury of home comforts without the hassle of having to put up a tent. Instead of waking up and stepping out of your house into your normal daily routine, you can wake up and step outside of your tent into your own private natural retreat. Fresh air and absolute leisure…what more could you ask for? When you go glamping, everything is prepared for you, pretty much like going to a 5-star hotel. The only difference is that you will be sleeping under canvas instead of in a concrete box (with horrible recycled air flowing around) All you need to do is park your car, unload your luggage, and explore the stunning surroundings. With breathtaking views of the mountains, an abundance of Australian Wildlife, and spacious powered or unpowered caravan sites with modern facilities, we offer the perfect caravan Park experience for your Halls Gap visit with a very warm welcome! Autarkia - Self Sufficiency

3 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents80 acres · Mafeking, VIC
Book our Bell Tent on our wetlands or bring your own tent to camp in a wattle grove (located in our paddock on undulating grassed areas) choosing views of the Grampians or Langi Ghiran. We have 80 acres 77 of which are currently used by the local wildlife and three we are beginning to garden in between renovating. Although the views are spectacular it does get rather dry in late summer/autumn. Our property is situated close to the Grampians National Park and provides a peaceful and secluded base to explore this amazing part of Western Victoria. You will be provided with a small amount of fire wood for a small fire weather permitting. No amenities provided. Please be aware, it can get quite windy at our place from time to time! We are renovating an old farmhouse (please excuse the mess) and taking an abandoned crumbling ruin to a self-sufficient paradise. We would love to have you explore our place and share a story or two about the local area as well as give you tips on the best spots to explore in the Grampians.

Talisker Homestead - 11 Bedrooms

1 site · Lodging1000 acres · Merino, VIC
Talisker is an 11 bedroom, 5 bathroom home at this stage. Initially forming part of the Merino Downs pastoral run (taken up by Francis Henty in 1836). Talisker passed to Francis’s daughter Caroline on the death of Francis in 1889. Merino Downs was one of the first three squatting runs established in Victoria. Following Caroline’s marriage to Angus McLeod, the Talisker Homestead was commissioned by architect Charles D’Ebro prominent for his design of Stonnington (Malvern) and Langi Willie (Skipton). The homestead (circa 1901) is a large U shaped designed Edwardian home of some 26 rooms (not all are available to guests as some parts of the home are undergoing further renovations). Featuring a viewing tower with expansive 360 degree views, elaborate plasterwork, colour leadlights and handsome timber and marble mantles throughout the home. The original garden design is evident with Bunya Bunya pines, a large Oak and a Kurrajong tree. Talisker is named for Angus McLeod’s (please note McLeod and MacLeod are used interchangeably) ancestral seat on the Isle of Skye. Talisker was for centuries a possession of the Clan MacLeod. In 1820 Donald Macleod, 6th of Talisker, sold his interest in Talisker and emigrated to Van Diemen's Land, now known as Tasmania. In 1825, Hugh MacAskill took over the Talisker estate and completed the clearance process begun under his predecessor. Five years later, in 1830, he founded the Talisker Distillery and the legendary Talisker whisky was born.
