We are pet friendly however all pets must be kept under control to keep the wildlife safe.
Campfires are permitted in our allocated fireplace except on days of total fire ban. Bring your own firewood or prebook a wheelbarrow full.

Located just a 20 minute drive from the Hobart CBD, this beautiful 0.67 hectare coastal bush property is set in a little valley right by Kingston Beach, Browns River and Tyndall Beach. It's just a short 5 minute stroll down the road to the beach, or up the road to the start of the Alum Cliffs Track.
Activities you can enjoy here include birdwatching, bushwalking, swimming, kayaking, fishing, sailing, bike riding, dog walking.
You'll be staying in a fairly new comfortable bedroom with ensuite bathroom tucked under my house. There's a double bed made up with fresh linen. You'll enjoy hot showers, a flushing toilet and almost complete privacy. There's mains water. With prior notice, you could use the washing machine inside the house and hang your clothes on the clothes line strung between trees.
Parking for two cars and/or caravan/campervan is easy. A circular driveway surrounds the house with a driveway extension.
I hope to build an outside kitchen at the nearby shed, but for now campers need to be self-contained for their cooking and washing up, or else take the short walk to Kingston Beach and the excellent cafes and restaurants there. Food scraps need to go in a compost bin on site.
Visitors are welcome to enjoy a fire when conditions allow it. Longer pieces of firewood are provided free of charge and kindling can easily be collected from around. (I'd rather you didn't use the shorter pieces of cut firewood as they are for my wood heater). You could enjoy a wood fired bush bath for a small charge, conditions allowing, with advance notice. Early evening is the best time to enjoy a bush bath and star gazing with set up in the afternoon.
Wildlife is abundant and includes birds, wallabies, possums, echidnas and bandicoots.
You are welcome to bring your small dog, but please ensure it's under control at all times. Wildlife are at risk if your dog is a hunter and roams free. Tyndall Beach (the Kingston dog beach) down the road is where your furry friends can have a run. Walk them to the beach on a lead and let them off there. I have an older Jack Russell who is afraid of big dogs, sorry.
I think this is the perfect place to experience a little bush luxury before beginning or ending your Tassie adventures.

It's cosy, has minimal facilities but you can boil a kettle and microwave a meal or cook outside on a camping stove (home cooked meals $20 booked in advance) Main bathroom facilities in my house twice daily at a time arranged but there's a caravan type loo in the yurt. There's an armchair, a cosy wood stove, and a single bed. Microwave, tea and coffee. Filtered rainwater. Bedding provided.
I'm a respectable distance away but your privacy is as important to you as it is to me.
Park on-site and you have a private entrance.
There are two silly labradors who may visit you outside so you do need to be a dog person. If not.. sorry the yurt is not for you.

Maree and Andrew's caravan was a perfect fit for what I needed. A comfy bed, lounge seating, small kitchen and a beautiful property. Secluded enough but within walking distance of the Maydena centre. They were also great to chat to and very accommodating of anything I needed. Highly recommended!

Weekend Trip to Nature's Edge
We had a lovely time staying in the caravan. We had family members who brought their own caravans and they were also on the property only a 100 metres away from Maree and Andrew’s caravan. This enabled us all to enjoy 40th birthday celebrations together. It was a very picturesque place to stay and we really enjoyed the surroundings. Maree and Andrew were very welcoming and available if we needed anything.

Weekend Trip to Sea Cliff Lookout Bus
Breathtaking! I watched a whale breach multiple times through the binoculars from the deck, had a relaxing soak in the outdoor fire bath, wandered the beautiful forest that surrounds the property, and enjoyed all of the wildlife even a white goshawk and pademelons with joeys! The bus is so comfy, cosy, the fire inside made sure of that. My second, visit and many more to come. A truly beautiful escape.

What a great find! And so close to Maydena, we loved our stay here. So quiet and the comfiest beds ever. Loved the option of cooking outside on the table and enjoying the views. Great secure storage for our bikes and Andrew & Maree such great hosts. We will definitely be back.

Great glamping experience in a lovely location. Miles and his family have done a fabulous job with converting the bus into a wonderful place to stay with supporting kitchen and bathroom amenities. The fire was prepared and ready to light with wood ready for night two. With ample options to relax outside or inside along with a super comfy bed. it was a seamless off grid trip.
Can recommend the fire bath and thanks for the bottle of wine.

The location is absolutely stunning. It's surrounded by gorgeous forest, you can hear nothing but the wind in the trees and the birds.
Yet despite the seclusion there is still a coffee cart in walking distance often set up at the nearby lookout.
The bus is surprisingly well insulated and is kept warm with the fireplace even when the temperature drops to freezing outside.

i only stayed one night in the yurt, but i wish i had stayed more! this is such a beautiful place, the yurt is soo cute and cozy and very well maintained! annie is a lovely lady and a great host! i would highly recommend staying a night or two here if you have the opportunity!

I stayed in the caravan for a couple of nights while at an event at the Maydena Bike Park. It’s only 2min drive from the centre of town, had all I needed for my stay. It was clean, warm and comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

2 nights at Sea Cliff Lookout Bus
We stayed 2 nights in the Bus and loved it. The view is breathtaking, staying in the bus was great and really comfortable. The fire in the bus keeps you toasty warm. Great fire pit area outside too near the deck. Great to stay in a cool, rustic, bush setting but still have hot water and electricity. Miles was a great host, he communicated quickly and suggested things to do, the bus and area were clean, firewood was a plenty and the firewood was already in the fire inside ready to light and quickly get warm.
We want to go back, and would 100% recommend!

Absolutely stunning location!! Quick and easy transaction with managers and Vicki and her partner never said No to any reasonable requests - even brought a fire pit down to our pod and some extra cooking gear because we were traveling on motorcycles!! The facilities were spotless and cosy to use - great temperature in the bathroom and the pod! So lovely right next to the river and the walks from the property are a must do!! Thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back!! Hoping by then there are eco hot tubs or similar by then.. I’d extend my stay for sure !! Thank you for a memorable time 🪶✨

Weekend Trip to Sea Cliff Lookout Bus
The private location surrounded by wildlife, bush and the epic view along the sea cliffs of the Tasman Peninsula grab your attention from the second you get out of the car. The bus is gorgeous, comfy and so full of character. From the fire bath, to the comfy couches, the fairy lights on the undercover deck at night to the beautiful landscaping that blends naturally. Love the separate kitchen too. You have everything you need for a memorable experience and so much more! Loved it!

Weekend Trip to Nature's Edge
We absolutely loved our stay in the Natures Edge Caravan. The property is relaxing, peaceful and scenic, with cute native wallabies hopping by to keep you company. The caravan was fully equipped with everything you need and very clean and comfortable. The bathroom and shower are close by and after walking past some beautiful tree ferns your entry is greeted with timber features and a wonderful spa scent. Maree and Andrew were very kind and welcoming. They do a great job keeping the gardens nice and provided a tour to orientate us when we arrived. The caravan is seperate to the house building and feels very private and not too secluded. We knew our lovely hosts were there if we needed, but they didn’t linger or interrupt us at all.
The property is just a 15 minute walk from the Maydena township and I have no doubt I will be back to stay again. Thank you!
