Four spacious cottages – each set a comfortable distance apart on a beautiful piece of paradise . The property is surrounded by the Tyenna River and has an abundant of wildlife such as padymelons, possums, platypus and other wildlife are frequently seen especially our resident echidna who wonders happily around the property. A footbridge across the river leads directly to Mount Field National Park, with the National Park Visitor’s Centre and Cafe, the Charles Marriott Shelter (BBQ facilities and children’s playground), and Russell Falls minutes walk away. The path passes through temperate tree fern rainforest, populated by glow worms. A minimum three nights stay is recommended as this area has so much to offer- Mt Fields walks and water falls- Junee caves- styx valley and land of the Giants- Strathgordon dam-creepy crawly walk-Lake Dobson- Rail track ride- Maydena adventure hub- Tassie bound adventures and you will need time to relax and enjoy Russell Falls cottages and the peaceful river, rain forest and birdlife.

Loved seeing all the Caravan Parks jammed in like sardines. No thanks.

We ended up here after we had to leave another camping area! And wish that we had come here first! It was everything we needed! Very peacefull and quiet! Rod was great pointing us in the right direction! It was a perfect base for Bruny! Next door was a lovely garden that we explored too! Our site had just been freshly mowed! On a creek, we were able to have a firepot which was great!
Would reccomend rods hipcamp to anyone who is headed to Bruny! Thanks rod!

Gorgeous and comfortable campsites with nice hosts. They have fire pits laying around, and you can buy firewood from them, and have bbqs, laundry, toilets and showers. Nice to be on the river side.

being my first time in the area, it was very convenient for me to travel to MBP.the camp made it easy for me having the ammenities like toilet and hot shower. i didnt get to use the laundry and bbq. but it is there when needed. the place is neat, peaceful & relaxing. It is very safe as well. I got to just leave my tent for the day and it was still the same when I got back.I would definitely use their services again when I go back to Maydena

We loved this site! We actually stayed in one of the Eco Pods and it was so comfy and cute. The proximity to the park is exceptional and the beauty unsurpassed. Bathrooms were fine and loved seeing the local platypus a couple of different times.

We had an incredible stay. The highlight for us was watching the kids paddle down the river in the kayak, laughing and splashing as they explored. Seeing their joy was priceless! We were also lucky enough to spot a platypus early in the morning, which was such a magical experience. The resident bunnies hopping around added an extra touch of charm, and the kids loved watching them.
The amenities were spotless—easily some of the cleanest we’ve come across while camping. It made our stay even more enjoyable, knowing everything was well-maintained. This place is a perfect position to get to Mt. Field national park or just relax, and we can’t wait to come back again!

Our favourite campsite so far! Brand new facilities made it feel more like glamping, a hot shower really makes everything better. Staff were lovely. Beautiful forested spot with platypuses swimming in the river! A very short walk to the Mt Field visitors centre with everything you need for nearby hikes, and Waterfalls cafe open daily to feed and caffeinate you as needed.

Absolutely beautiful site!!! Unlike the description there were showers, laundry, bathrooms, handwashing sinks and even a kettle and tea with milk in the fridge! Absolutely outstanding customer service with supply of blankets when asked and beautiful family. Would highly recommend.

Wow, this is the most beautiful campground to stay at immaculately kept grounds and facilities. We were about 20 metres from the banks of the lovely Tyenna River, we were even lucky enough to see the resident platypus three times during our two night stay.
We stayed in our tent so we were very happy with the beautiful new bathroom/laundry facilities which included 4 bathrooms each with a shower, vanity with power points, bench seat and a toilet. Ideal for those campers with children to bath etc. The laundry has a washer and dryer and two laundry tubs and a kettle.
It is a short five minute walk into the Mount Field National Park Visitor Information Facility which also has a lovely cafe serving great coffee and light refreshments. Russell Falls is a short walk on from the cafe, beautiful.
