Alma's Hem Amphitheatre and Retreat

Located on Ramindjeri Country in the heart of the Fleurieu Peninsula, Alma’s Hem is a serene, private campground set by a winter creek on a working cattle farm. An abundance of bird life, wildlife and big night skies. Pitch your tent, swag or park your caravan or RV. Less than 1km from the the Heysen trail, giving you easy access to hikes. 15 minute drive from Victor Harbor for all your shopping conveniences. 20 mins to the stunning Carrackalinga beaches; Kayaking the Second Valley caves and beautiful drives to waterfalls, conservation parks and tourist attractions. Campsites are located on level grassy area. Flushing toilets, fire pit and firewood available. Perfect for a romantic getaway or for small and larger groups. Please note that our property has work dogs who live nearby and love to visit guests. When you arrive there is a map located on the right hand side of the driveway entrance with the sites marked. You are welcome to find your site get comfortable. We will welcome you at some stage! Please contact us if you'd like to book for more guests than listed and we will do our best to accommodate. Campground has shared facilities and respect of each other and the land is critical. We are a leave no trace site, which means everything you bring in you must take with you, which includes rubbish and broken things. The bins at the entrance are for residents only and as they are only collected fortnightly cannot cater for more than those who live here. Firewood can be brought in by you or we will provide wood for $30/night per site. Wood is not to be foraged from adjoining scrub as it is Heritage listed and to be left for habitat, ecosystem and your admiration only! We look forward to crossing paths! Set on a hillside plateau adjacent a working fruit and nut orchard , the single campsite provides a small sheltered area with plenty of wildlife to let you know you are out of suburbia ( eg wedge tail eagles, rosellas , cockatoos , blue wrens and some resident kangaroos ... ( you may also see a koala . ( however drop bears are almost extinct here ) Secluded but connected ... Why travel more than you have to to escape and get back to basics? You can set up camp and be sipping a wine or hot beverage in the bush tranquility in less than an hour from most suburbs . The campsite is set on a hill with a view . It is not a parkland but offers a true taste of nature with native grass and vegetation . approx 15 mins from Magill and about 40 mins to the CBD / small caravans ok . Bushwalk on the property or Rock climb at nearby Morialta falls / hike Cleland / Mt Lofty or use the Grove as a base to expore the nearby Heysen trail , the many bakeries , eateries , wineries, breweries and distilleries nearby . Visit historic Marble Hill residence on open days, or enjoy many of the many events the Adelaide hills has on offer. ( Medieval fair / Adelaide rally / SALA / bay to Birdwood / Anzac / country fairs to name a few ) Enjoy pure Marble Hill spring Water ... Roast some chestnuts * over the campfire or gather some wild blackberries* , or mushrooms *. ( * in season ) . Pls Note :- Campers are provided a basic toilet / waste disposal pit area and your self contained outdoor showers are welcome . L Pet waste must be removed and any onsite rubbish must be placed in the roadside wheelie bin ( off site )on departure .

Kickback and relax far enough out of town that no one will bother you and also still be closer enough to duck to the shops for milk. We'd love people to come an enjoy our little farm 6km out the back of Middleton, SA. There are no facilities, power or access to water available but for anyone self contained you'll love it. We can offer you farm fresh EGGS pretty cheap though for breakfast. Check in from time from 1.00pm, but touch base if your'e early, we'll stretch for for you. Super close to some of the best beaches in the state. Middleton for surfing 🏄 Goolwa for fishing 🎣 Port Elliot for swimming 🏊‍♀️ Rates include you getting to hang out with the horse (Nick) who love a stray carrot or 10 and our beautiful sheep including Kevin (the white sheep of the family, you'll get the joke when you meet him) We do allow dogs on leads as long as they are ok with animals.
