Pichi Richi Park is our family owned and operated property, 13km south of Quorn in the heart of the Pichi Richi Pass. We have plenty of campsites, including bush campsites that are secluded and private, along with campsites that are much closer to our bathrooms, group accommodation, kitchens and bush cabins. Here at Pichi Richi Park, there are a number of signposted walking tracks ranging in distance from a few km up to a 10km+ loop. The Heysen Trail comes through our property for nearly 7km and some of our own walking tracks link with the Heysen as it meanders through our property. You can also ride your mountain bike around and the Mawson Bike Trail is not far away. We have over 1,000 acres of land around our accommodation that we do not graze as we are allowing this beautiful piece of Aussie outback to return to its original and pristine state. We are not a caravan park, so all campers and caravanners that come here get a fair bit of space and nobody is on top of anyone else. Quorn is our local town and is 13km away to the north. Quorn has 2 pubs, a number of cafes and a little supermarket that is open from 7am to 8pm 7 days a week. Bush campers should plan to be self-sufficient, there is a full flush toilet for use and untreated water for use at every site. However there are no showering facilities or drinking water provided. Your site will be near a dry creek bed near large trees in an open space where you may explore freely within the Creek Paddock which is about 5 acres. This is a horse property of about 15 acres, so getting close to a horse is a strong possibility. Sunset and sunrise on the Flinders Ranges are beautiful, as are the morning clouds when they push up over the ranges. Mt Remarkable and the range running northward is what you will see. You will be greeted by wildlife, including Kangaroo and Euro, bird life, and many smaller critters who may be surreptitiously checking you out. The site is located about 200 meters from the main house. This is a natural space so the ground is undulating. Vans and campers will be able to level without issue providing you carry items to help you with this. The access is year-round with the exception of extreme fire danger periods.

The property is fairly central to the localities of Laura, Stone Hut, Wirrabara, Melrose and Wilmington. Port Pirie is about 50km away if you need any major conveniences or supplies. You will need to be self-contained with your own camping toilet/shower and drinking water supply. We grow veggies on our land - if you would like some for your campfire dinner please ask me. Only 700m off the main Petersburg Road (entry off Dawson Road), Our bush campsites offer a blend of natural beauty, rustic charm, and unforgettable experiences, with each carefully positioned amongst old native pines, offering views of both sunrise and sunset, along with views of open farmland, distant hills, and animals doing their thing. Each site features a level pad to keep you out of the dirt and the prickles, while defining your spot. There are also firepits and bins on each site. We currently require all campers to be fully self-contained, providing their own toilet, water, and power for a true off-grid experience. We are a work-in-progress and constantly chipping away at making things even better! The centrepiece of the campsite is an absolutely stunning stone ruin. We wish the walls could talk to tell us its story! We are currently working on making this space accessible to all our guests - with a communal fire pit and seating areas opening soon. Just off the main road from Adelaide to Port Augusta, Wirrabara sits in the foothills of the southern Flinders Ranges, surrounded by farmlands, fruit orchards, and forests. In town, campers can check into a Wirrabara caravan park, which has spacious powered sites with showers and fire pits within walking distance of town, or opt to drive out a little farther for more private campsites with space for caravans and tents. Once you’ve admired the colourful silo art, played a game of golf, or picked up some farm-fresh produce from the popular Wirrabara Producers Market, head just west of town. Wirrabara Range Conservation Park has scenic woodland trails where you can hike, mountain bike, or horseback ride before pitching a tent or parking your caravan at the state-run campground. To the north, Mount Remarkable National Park boasts some of the region’s best mountain biking trails, as well as bushwalking tracks and a choice of bush campgrounds, cabin rentals, and lodge accommodations.
