Heyson Base Camp

This property is a portion of a large working farm. We have cattle, sheep, cropping, and horses. The property is approx 12,000 acres with amazing ranges that sometimes see snow in winter.

Tent, Swag or Campervan at Heyson base camp. Enjoy the lovely Gum lined Dry Creek with blue stone ruins of times gone by.

Enjoy a short hike to the Wind Turbines and see up close how magnificent these green energy windmills work. Or enjoy a hike along the famous Heyson Trail at the top of the range. See the stars in all their glory whilst cuddling up in front of the camp fire. Wake up to grazing cattle, sheep and wildlife on a beautiful working farm.

The campsite is nestled amongst beautiful old gums and pine with sweeping views of the valley in front and a gorgeous range out the back. Plenty of Shade and places to explore.

Dogs on Lead only. Host approval required at booking.
Pit toilet available, BYO toilet paper.
Bin provided for waste. Please use this or take it home with you.

There are livestock on the property, please do not approach livestock unless Host is with you.

Just a short drive of 30 minutes to the town of Burra you can enjoy the Passport Key and see the rich heritage of the copper mining era. Jamestown is 25 minutes drive where you can explore the bundaleer forest or see the tesla battery.

A Cluckin Good Time

Stay in quiet Terowie, in a fully fence 1 acre paddock by the old Catholic Church, walking distance to the tiny township which is slowly becoming a ghost town.

The old Church is a beautiful sandstone building, built in 1888, that is gradually being renovated to become a home. As well as amazing sunsets, fresh country air and beautiful stars, you'll find chickens, kangaroos, galahs, echidnas and other wildlife passing through. 

There are no facilities, so you'll need to be fully self contained, however there are public toilets in main street.

Pets are welcome as long as they do not chase the wildlife and no yapping dogs. Peaceful area.There is Kevin the sheep who loves to say hello, miniature goats, dog, cat. All animals welcome. 
Welcome to have a small camp fire, park up and explore Terowie and local surroundings

Welcome to Katz retreat -  a church, old renovated church school for a BnB, glamping ground currently under construction, farm animals, goats, chickens and sheep, more variety to move in.

The property is close to North and South Flinders rangers and the Mount Remarkable, and stream train country. A evolving business to include parking for caravans.

Visit the flinders ranges north and south, see country SA, great sunsets, farm animal experience, coal train visits, see operational small farm townships, nearby country pubs, close to multiple small towns.

Cartapo Creek - Hobby Farm

Want to have a unique camping experience away or sick of crowded caravan sites? Or perhaps you just need a tranquil break from the city or a weekend away from your hectic life?

Cartapo Creek - Hobby Farm is suitable for on and off-road caravans, 4WD, 2WD & AWD vehicles. Suitable for multiple groups that want to camp together.

We have a 35 acre farm at the base of the Mt Lofty Ranges in Hallett. To the east of us is Mt Razorback and Mt Bryan which is part of the Heysen Trail. We have a mixture of Sheep, Cows, Pigs, Alpacas, Chickens and Peafowl roaming the property. Campers will be separate from roaming livestock, however can access them easily if they wish.

Heggies Hill Bush Camp

Bush camping and Glamping in native South Australian scrubland. Wake up to breathtaking views of the Southern Flinders Ranges with sheep and cattle roaming in the surrounding paddocks. This is the perfect hub for day trips where travelers can explore the beauty of the Mid North and return for sunset and dinner around a campfire.

Our camp is 720m above sea level with one the best views overlooking the Southern Flinders Ranges! We are so lucky to have the historic Tarcowie pub open down the road just 5 minutes away, open for meals and beers. 

Bush campers should plan to be self-sufficient, there is a full flush toilet for use and untreated water for use at every site. However there are no showering facilities or drinking water provided. Glampers at Canoee's Realm have full amenities.
