Bajimba Eco Camp is part of our stunning family property nestled in the surrounds of Mt Bajimba in the Northern Tablelands of NSW, 40 minutes south east of Tenterfield. Historically known as a resting point for bullock teams hauling timber from the surrounding forests on their way to a saw mill in the lower valley, Bajimba is now home to Merv & Carey. We are just over 1080 metres above sea level, with 57 acres of eucalypt & grass tree forests, grass pastures, and a small (but mighty) organic farm. Accommodation options include "West View “situated at our highest elevation with incredible views from the deck, and "Bullock Camp" which can accommodate tents, caravans or motor homes. When making travel arrangements, note we are in NSW and therefore are 1 hour ahead of QLD during day light savings months. It is encouraged if possible that guests arrive before 6pm to ensure a smooth and stress free check in to camp. Being able to experience the sunset is all a part of your Bajimba stay! Amenities for both sites include an ablution block with hot shower and composting toilet, with steam sauna and wood-fired hot tub available by appointment. Please call at time of booking if hot tub and sauna facilities are required (especially for same-days bookings). Wood fired hot tubs require four hours to heat appropriately. Also note that all toiletries are provided to ensure that our critical farm ecosystem is maintained. When staying at “West View”, we supply Tea, Coffee, Muesli, Full Cream Milk, fresh Eggs from our Hens, Salt & Pepper, Olive Oil, Cast Iron cook ware and a portable sink for cleaning Utensils etc. Also supplied are Plates, Knives & Forks etc. Portable Gas Cooker also supplied if not using the Fire Pit. First Aid kit. Bajimba backs on to Washpool National Park, providing thousands of acres for 4wd exploring, with fishing, hunting, hiking, bird watching only a stones throw away.

Lovely secluded spot all to ourselves. Nice grassy area and relatively flat for set-ups. Creek was low and not clear so not great for swimming but was still nice to sit by. Thanks for a great stay :-)

What a wonderful spot for some peace and quiet! We had a great lunch at the Maryvale pub before heading down. Well maintained camping area, nice level ground and a good-sized fire pit. The creek is beautiful, the stars are amazing, and satellite spotting is always fun. The cows and horses dropped by too!

1 night at BAJIMBA Eco Camping and Farm Stay

Merv's land is in a beautiful location up high in the hills. My campsite was private and I saw kangaroos and bunnies hopping by, and pretty birds as well as farm animals. The road up there is mostly unsealed but it was easily doable in my camper van especially as I went in dry weather. The toilets were a bit far away from my unpowered site for a 60 yo lady nighttime visit because I was afraid I'd trip, but I had my own anyway. The shower and toilet facilities were very clean and attractive being uniquely designed from recycled building materials. A lovely place for my overnight stay.

From the moment I rounded the bend and looked down on the camp-site, I knew I was somewhere special. A large flat grassy space with a ready-made firepit, right beside a creek lined with trees. The hill behind the site means this beautiful spot is secluded, and you have it all to yourself! We saw and heard maybe half a dozen cars drive past the whole time we were there, and the only other sounds were birds and insects, and of course the resident beasts! One of my dogs was not very keen on the horse and cattle visits! But they were inquisitive and friendly, and my other dog got to say hello. The creek was gently babbling and the perfect temperature, with easy access to get cooled off and sit and enjoy the serenity. If you're a self sufficient camper who loves your own space, do not go past this spot! I will be back as soon as I can manage it. 🙂

The moment we pulled in, we both just went wow! The flowers were absolutely beautiful and instantly made the whole place feel calm and welcoming. The campsite was super private, quiet, and really easy to access. Such a peaceful little pocket, and our dog was living her best life exploring the space. And the host, honestly, such a standout. Friendly, easygoing, really accommodating… and a bit mysterious and handsome, which didn’t hurt the overall vibe at all! We loved our stay and would absolutely come back again. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a relaxed, nature-filled escape.

Very private site all to our selves perfect for tent camping! Road near by but no noise at all. Great fire pit, and beautiful little creek perfect for a dip! A bit exposed so be sure to have your own gazebo etc. Unfortunately we timed our visit with the arrival of a billion flies but otherwise great place to camp!

Amazing little spot to get away. Very quiet and comfortable place to camp. Merv is awesome, very relaxed and easy going wanting us to make the most of the area. Lots of wildlife and farm animals but plenty of space around the site so wasnt a problem with our dog. Toilets and shower were very well set up and clean. Overall awesome spot to stay. Thanks Merv.

This is our second time here and we loved it all over again! Swimming hole/s are great, seem to have a spring so always full. Long enough we did some kyaking . Horses are friendly and love attention from those familiar with horses, still good with others but less likely to approach. Enjoy carrots 🥰 Plenty of room to walk and adventure. Local wildlife are amazing (wedgetail Eagle regularly overhead, roos and even a bilby (i think)) We could probably spend a week here! Especially with Warwick so close for forgotten items, dump points or even dinner out.
