Located 10 minutes outside Gatton, Gatton indoor arena and showgrounds, 30 minutes from Glen Rock National Park (horse riding friendly), 30 minutes from Spicers Hidden Vale Mountainbike trails, 30 minutes from Toowoomba and Ipswich our property is centrally located for any event here in the Lockyer Valley. Two sites to choose from: 1. Fruit tree patch Flat, accessible grassed area for an RV or Campers, located at the front of the property. This offers a safe space with a fire pit and access to safe outdoor dog pen to keep your dog safe during your stay. If you have children there is also an outdoor play fort, swings and slide to utilise. 2. The dam pitch A tent pitch or 2 depending on party size down passed the horses paddocks next to the seasonal dam (summer months). Located at the back of the property. The dam it accessible for swimming and a small fire pit can be made for your use. No fires permitted during a total fire ban period. Dogs are welcome however must be up-to-date with vaccinations and be safe around horses and well socialised with other dogs as we do have our own on site. Horses also welcome with prior notice and vaccinations up-to-date. An additional booking is needed. They are to be corralled in electric yards and all manure picked up after stay. Perfect place for a family getaway. The horses were incredibly friendly and gentle, just like dogs, which was a big highlight. The views were beautiful, the breeze was lovely, and the toilets were clean and well maintained. Everything was comfortable and we truly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended for families — we would love to come back again.

The moment I arrived, all I could say was “wow” — the view was absolutely insane!!! Cooking and eating while looking at such a breathtaking view was truly the best part of the experience. Right after setting up the tarp, a heavy downpour started, but thanks to the beautiful scenery, everything still felt perfectly okay. It would have been an absolutely perfect place if it hadn’t rained! I came alone with my dog, but the place was far too beautiful to enjoy by myself, so I will definitely come back again with friends. Wendy was incredibly kind and very helpful with clear directions. I went to see the sunrise on New Year’s morning. It rained throughout the night, and the sun was partially hidden behind the clouds, but I still got to see the first sunrise of 2026 — it was such a happy and memorable experience.

Such a quiet, epic spot to chill for a couple of days. Horses were super inquisitive and Norm was very friendly. Went out of his way for us! Even took us down the paddock to spot a koala that he had seen earlier. Kids had a ball in the creek. We were lucky enough to catch the toogoolawah Christmas street party which was also a lot of fun.

Absolutely lovely spot right next to the dam. Light breeze most days. Space between campers. Maintained by wonderful hosts who weren't intrusive but did come down to check on us on occasion (we were here in the big supercell storm!) Couple of things to point out to future campers. Is there some machinery and stuff on the property like said in another review, yes. Does it effect your view and experience, NO. This is a working property, not a holiday resort. All equipment is with the owners main house and nowhere near the campsites. And also, bring mozzie spray. Like anywhere near water after dark the mozzies do come out as they always do. It also shares a fence with another hipcamp property next door so there are other ppl around but I don't think it effects your stay as everyone on both sides are respectful of their surroundings. All in all I think this was a gem to discover and we will definitely be booking again. Thanks Mitch n Hollie for their lovely hospitality n opening their home to us all.

Had a lovely time camping at "Jack's Place". There was plenty of room, level ground & it's a beautiful place to appreciate nature. My dog & I had a visit from some horses, very tame, as well as some kangaroos at dusk. Great communication with hosts. Highly recommend the experience.

Having some experience now with off-grid camping, the Magic Pond is value for the price you pay. The camping spot is nice, easy to access and big enough to give you some privacy. Not enough space to go for long walks with the dog, but Beachmere, Bribie or Brisbane are not a long drive away. Midges are a bit of a bother some times of the year, and nothing seems to keep them away! A smudging fire, or go to bed ...

Easy to find and lovely spot between 2 lakes, the purple lilies were so beautiful and taking the property kayaks out to paddle through them was just stunning. Couldn't locate the fire wood so sourced from another place. Mozzy's can be fierce so be prepared. I used Thermacell Mosquito Repellent Unit from BCF and it did an excellent job, covered 21m area for 12 hours, cost approx. $60 for a number of times with gas refills and repellent pads. I would stay again, beautiful spot.
