Nyalar Mirunganah Nature Refuge

31 sites · RVs, Tents470 acres · North Branch, QLD
**Our camping sites vary in size and proximity to others. If you want to come with a group with several vehicles etc, please send a message rather than book separate sites. We will help find a site which suits your needs. We now have several secluded bush camp sites as alternatives to our more 'civilised' sites. They have no facilities apart from the site so you must be entirely self-sufficient. But all are single sites well away from others. We invite you to come and share our property, soak up the tranquility of our quiet valley and enjoy feeling at home in nature. And your dog is welcome too (under control please because we value our wildlife, and no more than 2 dogs per couple or family group)! The land is nearly 200 Ha in the western foothills of the Dividing Range, with the usually-flowing North Branch Creek being a green haven supporting lots of wildlife. It also includes the secluded back valley of Hann Creek to which you can walk, cycle or ride, with many tracks of lengths up to 3 km. The land is mostly open forest land with some cleared areas from its dairy-farming history, and many gullies with thicker vegetation. The property is mostly now dedicated to nature conservation and the recovery of its more natural state. It is a Nature Refuge under Qld legislation with special emphasis on recognising that the land is Githabul country, honouring local Githabul people now, sharing it with them and others, plus preserving species of plants and animals with known relevance to their former lifestyles. The name Nyalar Mirungan-ah means 'Old Women's Tears' in Githabul, and recognises that they cry because the land was taken from them and because it has not been looked after well by European people. We are now trying to care for it well, and to allow the original ecosystems to return, by lighter grazing, soil recovery and using traditional Aboriginal burning knowledge. And we welcome dogs as long as they don't disturb our wildlife. Shandy, our own dog, is very welcoming to guests and might drop in to your camp for a visit.

Hilltop Farm, Crows Nest

12 sites · RVs, Tents175 acres · Crows Nest, QLD
We have several peaceful campsites available on our 175-acre property - some with beautiful escarpment views, and some amongst the peaceful surrounds of the bush. We are 10km from the town of Crows Nest on the Great Dividing Range. 50 minutes from Toowoomba and 2 hours from Brisbane. The hill on the property (Flat Top) is one of the highest points in the area at 700m altitude. From the hilltop, you can enjoy 360-degree views of the surrounding area, with views across the Esk Valley towards the Sunshine Coast, sunsets over the hills surrounding Crows Nest, and even glimpses of Cressbrook Dam. There are 3 separate campsites on the hilltop. We also have secluded bush campsites down in the paddocks, these are private and peaceful with no other campers within sight. They are all situated to be able to enjoy the sunset. We feel very spoilt living here in this beautiful place and would love for others to share it. It is extremely quiet and peaceful, yet less than a 15-minute drive to Crows Nest. There is plenty to explore in the area, including: 🏞 Crows Nest Falls National Park (good for a swim) 🐃 Bullocky's Rest and creekside walk in Crows Nest (dog friendly) 🌳 Ravensbourne National Park (rainforest) 🏚 Crows Nest Museum 🎣 Cressbrook and Perseverance Dams 🚂 Muntapa Railway Tunnel towards Cooyar ☕️ French patisserie and other cafes in Crows Nest. 🛍 Antique and boutique shops 📚 Second-hand book store 👩‍🌾 Also markets in Crows Nest on the first Sunday of each month. Further along the New England Highway, Toowoomba is host to the annual Carnival of Flowers in Spring. We kindly ask that you familiarise yourself with our property rules We hope we can help you have a pleasant and peaceful camping trip! Back Paddock Botanical - Lavender

33 sites · RVs110 acres · Goombungee, QLD
Come and stay with us on our newly established Lavender and Herb Farm. We are situated less than 5km from the lovely town of Goombungee where you can stock up with groceries, fuel or gas at the supermarket, grab a coffee or breakfast at the local café, enjoy some retail therapy at the Australia Post gift shop or the (seriously great) op shop and then take a walk through the art gallery before spending the night beneath the stars next to the Lavender or Rosemary. Back Paddock Botanical - Lavender and Herb farm was established in 2023 and although not fully grown yet the plants add a peaceful ambience to the already beautiful countryside around Goombungee. Flowering time for our Lavender Plants is between October and January, so if you are here between those times you will see the Lavender in bloom. We have 10 self contained campsites around the lavender fields, including a group site which can accommodate larger groups of caravans/motorhomes. All campsites are well spaced and private, with non-potable (Bore) water available for washing up after dinner! Wake up to the sound of Kookaburras and cockatoos and enjoy your morning cuppa while watching the grazing Wallabies/Kangaroos and keep and eye out for Echidnas and Koalas. We love dogs and well behaved canine family members are always welcome at our campsites, however please respect the biosecurity of the lavender by not allowing them into the fields and please make sure they do not roam to other campsites. All campers must provide their own toilet, so self contained camp set ups are needed on the farm - what you pack in, you pack out - please respect our farm and the surrounding nature and leave no trace. We can also cater to larger groups as each individual site has plenty of room, please contact us to discuss if we can accommodate you. Please note that this is a working farm so we will be around working in the fields or farm sheds. NB: All Rubbish to be removed on departure. No dumping of caravan/toilet cassettes. No generators after 5pm in autumn/winter and 7pm in spring/summer. No driving of vehicles on any part of the Lavender fields and please stay on designated farm roads. Max speed 20km. No firearms. No excessive consumption of alcohol. Although our campsites are well spaced please be mindful of other campers and keep noise to a minimum after 10pm.
