Somerset Dam is 40minutes away and you are able to use your own motorised equipment there. PLEASE if booking individually but you intend to join a larger group please message me on hipcamp after you have booked telling me the names of people you would like to camp with so I can allocate a space large enough to fit you all. Also please note we have 24 sites only, however some of these sites can easily fit 40 people therefore on Hipcamp it can show lots of availability when in fact that may not be the case. We are more expensive per person than other camp sites. Please note this includes hipcamp fees and charges and you are covered by hipcamp insurance. We don’t charge for pets, nor do we charge to use our 6 onsite canoes, nor do we charge extra for hot showers or rubbish removal, we haveguest wifi. Our 1km private driveway is rough but if driven to conditions a 2wd has no issues.. Most of the time space is abundant however if choosing to come on a long weekend, Easter or New Years expect it to be a lot busier than your average weekend with larger groups camping together, however still plenty of space between groups. You won’t ever have to trip over your neighbours tent ropes here. Eco friendly lakefront and near to lake front sites. Please don’t arrive expecting lakefront, our sites are all near to and Depending on group size not everyone will have lake frontage. We can never guarantee requests. We assign sites based on numbers and camping equipment. Furtherest camp spot is approximately 500m from amenities block, however porta loos are located in the remote site but it’s a walk or drive back to the showers. Flushing toilets and 2 hot showers available in main area. Please note: toilet cartridges are not to be emptied into our toilets. Take it home or dispose at dump point at Woodford Showgrounds We provide unpowered Bush camping, and we try to keep the camp sites as natural as possible, no flat pads. There is lots of space for the kids to run or take the dog for a walk on the lead. If you are organising a celebration (eg wedding/birthday) please send an enquiry first so we can discuss your needs. Please note if you’re wanting a function the price is $5500 which gives you sole use of the property up to 70 campers for 2 nights. (We live onsite) please also note we abide by noise restrictions and we do not allow amplified music and noise needs to be kept to a minimum after 10pm. We will allow up to 120 people onsite cost $7500. These prices include early entry Friday from 10am and late departure Sunday by 4pm. Extra accommodation available at extra cost. There is plenty of water for swimming and kayaking.All vehicle access. Entry from 12.00pm, Early arrivals incur a fee of $5per person includes Children and providing there is space available. We have firepits at all campsites and adhere to any fire restrictions. We do not supply BBQ’s please bring your own. Please come to our reception building on the way in, as we need to check everybody in, visitors to your camp site need to sign in and pay a day fee. We are then able to answer any questions you may have and further cement our rules. Day visitors to your campsite will incur a $10 per person fee and is time restrictive. Your camping area creek side is for tent camping only. 5 sites are a metre from the tree lined creek edge with giant granite boulders and water running most of the year. Cross the sandy creek bed by foot to unpack your tent and set up your fire pit. Your car can be parked safely on the property nearby. 4. Have an RV? Then we have 3 spaces in a more public space next to a narrow creek spot depending on your size. 5. What else? We have a shower n toilet located a short walk from your site via torch light or bring your own portable toilet. Town water is available as well. 6. We provide an extensive camping ground which ensures that you will have a large amount of space to set up comfortably. Flushing toilets and hot showers are provided. We offer you the choice of a standard enclosed private shower or the fun of open air showers. We also have ice, firewood and kindling for sale. We are happy for you to come and camp on your own or book the entire place if you have an event, large groups are welcome. There is a designated area that can be hired for parties and private functions with marquees available if required. If you are looking for clothing optional camping we fully welcome this, however we need to know prior to booking clothing optional so we can check on our availability to accommodate you. We support you however we cannot always accommodate you due to other bookings. Pets are welcome and must be under control and on a leash as there are farm animals kept on this property. Camp fires are permitted in communal fire areas or at your camp in provided fire drums. There is a limited number of fire drums available, so you are welcome to bring your own. The only exception will be if a local fire ban is activated. We have firewood available for sale, or you can collect free firewood off the ground. You are also welcome to bring your own firewood. We don’t charge for pets, nor do we charge to use our 6 onsite canoes, nor do we charge extra for hot showers or rubbish removal, we haveguest wifi. Our 1km private driveway is rough but if driven to conditions a 2wd has no issues.. Most of the time space is abundant however if choosing to come on a long weekend, Easter or New Years expect it to be a lot busier than your average weekend with larger groups camping together, however still plenty of space between groups. Stonesthrow is a rural property in the Illinbah valley, nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, with council approval for limited camping (4WD only - leave no trace). So if you want to escape the crowds at public campgrounds, your privacy and enjoyment are assured! We are NOT a 4WD adventure park so vehicles must be parked up at your site on arrival and left there unless leaving the property to go to town/tourist activities. Any exploration of the property or travel to toilets is strictly on foot only- NO 4WD'ing. Anyone driving around the property will be asked to leave. We have sites both near the creek and facilities and up on the plateau. Our elevated/remote sites require capable 4WD's with off-road/AT tyres and campers need to be fully self-sufficient including having their own sealed chemical camping toilet and an ensuite/privacy tent. If you don't have your own commercial chemical camping toilet then you will be given a choice of sites with access to facilities. We reserve the right to view/verify your toilet before allowing you access to the elevated/remote sites. Caravans are restricted on where they can access- with no guarantee of sufficient sunlight for solar. Elevated/remote sites cannot be reached with a caravan- please bear this in mind if booking with a caravan. Well behaved dogs are welcome as long as they are on a lead when moving about the property. Please let us know if you wish to bring a dog and you will be allocated an appropriate site as some areas of the property are designated 'dog-free' camping zones. The common area (old shearing shed) has composting toilets, communal fridge, microwave, jug, drinking water, sink for washing up and table/chairs. There is 500 m of (shallow) creek frontage, kms of walking/riding trails and grassy creek flats for recreational activities. Over the decades, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses. There is also a variety of fruit trees and plantation timber. Please note that arrival must be in daylight hours with sufficient time for orientation, travel to your site and set up before dark. We offer you the choice of a standard enclosed private shower or the fun of open air showers. We also have ice, firewood and kindling for sale. We are happy for you to come and camp on your own or book the entire place if you have an event, large groups are welcome. There is a designated area that can be hired for parties and private functions with marquees available if required. If you are looking for clothing optional camping we fully welcome this, however we need to know prior to booking clothing optional so we can check on our availability to accommodate you. We support you however we cannot always accommodate you due to other bookings. Pets are welcome and must be under control and on a leash as there are farm animals kept on this property. Camp fires are permitted in communal fire areas or at your camp in provided fire drums. There is a limited number of fire drums available, so you are welcome to bring your own. The only exception will be if a local fire ban is activated. We have firewood available for sale, or you can collect free firewood off the ground. You are also welcome to bring your own firewood. No chainsaws allowed. Please note that there is no potable water on site. You must bring your own DRINKING water. During extreme weather events the property can be affected, so if rain is forecast, please call before heading out.
