We have a filleting table and abundant water to wash vehicles. A Tavern, small convenience store and takeaway food is 10 minutes away at Baffle Creek Town. Turtle nesting on Rules Beach from November to March. Abundant bird life, wildlife and kangaroos. Close to the Historic town of 1770. We are off the Grid with 12v power, although there is a generator if you require to use the 240v. We have over a hundred mango trees and a couple of dams. Apart from the cabin, that has facilities and is fully self contained., if you want to camp you must be fully safe contained. We can also a small Jack-off camper that is also available to hire. There are walking tracks on the property.. Please do not leave pets alone in cabin. FREE Firewood Tours are available.

Serenity is a lifestyle here, as you enjoy the privacy, peace and quiet on a 46-acre block with plenty of trees and wildlife. Guests are required to be self sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure.We currently have two campsites available to guests so privacy is a given when staying at the property.Go for a walk, drive through the Deewater National Park, head to the beach, go fishing or join the activities in nearby Agnes Waters/1770, and come back to this little haven. Pets are welcome, please ensure they are restrained and cleaned up after.Sorry, no campfires where you park.But a small communal fire pit is available to meet and have a yarn.Firewood can be collected for free, please re-stock the wood you have used.

When we were going to grill, he not only came over to help us get everything ready, but he also sat with us while we grilled and we had a wonderful conversation. He even let us borrow some of his own kitchen equipment when we were missing a few things. Small gestures like that truly make a big difference.

Beautiful spot, great fishing. Caught cod, brim, grunter, some other unknown thing and a catty. Amenities there for your convenience big well maintained areas to camp. Wood $10 a bag. Hot shower, and lovely people. Midgees are and were terrible this time of year.... but thats most places with mangroves.....

A real gem! Quiet and clean, and the facilities and price can’t be beat! The birds and wildlife up there were incredible! It also got nice and cool in the evening, which was a huge relief after sleeping near Cairns for a couple weeks. A little tip- there *is* plenty of space…. But if you want flat and shady ground (near the back or side), and don’t want to cram in next to someone—come early. If that’s not possible though, and you can stay another night, set up bare bones the first nightand wait until the next morning. A ton of people left pretty early and I could move to a prime location if I wanted. Les was also great. Very helpful and friendly.

6 nights at Kolan River Retreat

We had a very relaxing stay at Kolan River Retreat, from the time we arrived right through to unfortunately having to leave this spot. We met Peter at the gate and he gave us all the info we needed for our stay, Peter is a gentleman and keeps his property very well maintained. We selected our campsite and set up for 6 nights on a beautiful shaded grassy spot next to the river, we loved that we were able to wonder around our site bare feet on the grass. Being there through the week it felt as though we had the place to ourselves. The weather was quite warm while we were there but, there was a beautiful breeze blowing through that made our stay even more pleasant. Did I mention the big night sky…beautiful!

Camp Kuna exceeded my expectations in every way. As a local, I'm always searching for quality camping spots, and this one definitely earned a place on my return list. The facilities were impressively well-maintained and spotlessly clean. The kitchen came equipped with all the essentials you'd need, which made meal prep a breeze. I particularly loved the fire pits – they were thoughtfully designed and added the perfect ambiance to our evenings. The campground offers plenty of shady spots, which is a huge plus for staying comfortable during the day. The location is ideal, with just a short, easy walk down to the river. It's close enough to be convenient but far enough to feel like you're truly escaping into nature. Even though I live nearby, I'd absolutely camp here again. It's the perfect balance of comfort and outdoor experience. Highly recommended for both locals looking for a quick getaway and travelers passing through the area.

Probably the most outstanding camp kitchen ever. Catered from pots, pans, gas burner stove, outside BBQ and even dish washing liquid!! Free washing machine and the amenities were spotless at all times. Les does an amazing job, and the locals are friendly. Would highly recommend...great nature chill spot. The Red Dog loved the river walk.
