Darwin is the gateway to the amazing Kakadu National Park. There are many popular waterfront areas with several beaches and green areas like Bicentennial Park. While sightseeing, make sure you visit the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, displaying Southeast Asian and Pacific art. For outdoor enthusiasts, there are some good fishing and mountain biking spots. We are located on a 5-acre block on the edge of town. The top 2 acres are laid out in a tropical garden setting, with the other 3 acres set out with native Darwin plants visited by lots of native animals and birds. You'll feel like you're a whole world away yet you will only be 2 minutes from the supermarket, 5 minutes from a large shopping centre, and 15 minutes from Darwin's CBD. We are a small boutique site and only have currently 3 sites on the 5 acres. Your site is private and you will be able to enjoy your stay without interference from others. IMPORTANT: Each site can accommodate 2 adults MAX. If you have 3 or 4 adults, you will need to book both sites. Please note Pool site is open all year round and has permanent cover. Other sites are dependant on weather and access.

The weather is warm and the site behind our pool is a nice space to be! It is lovely to be in a space where you are the only camper! The tropical gardens provide privacy and abundant bird life. The property is safe and secluded in the rural suburb of Virginia. We are situated in the Darwin Rural area on 5 acres of bush land with tropical gardens and a saltwater swimming pool. There is a variety of bird life, lizards, frogs, and possums. You can feed our friendly butcher birds and King Fishers on the fly from our verandah or pool area. Sit with the fish pond and chat with the turtle who is very shy! We have dogs that live at the property so pets on application only. (we do have a dog cage available if required and can pet sit for a day if required ) We have caravan sites for fully self-contained caravans and unpowered sites in the horse yard. There is a single shower / toilet block available at the top of the driveway. We do have power to some sites, and we would appreciate it if you do not leave air conditioners running while you are off site. If you are travelling in a group, we can accommodate you in a large open area if your group would like to stay together. Each caravan site has its own fireplace for your use. Only 5 minutes from Palmerston or Coolalinga, 25 minutes from Darwin CBD. If you are looking for a local fishing tour, we can hook you up with the locals. We have many fishing and crabbing locations close by on the Elizabeth River, Middle Arm or around Darwin Harbour. Local Fred's Pass Food and Craft Markets are open Saturday and Wednesday night music and food

The property is safe and secluded in the rural suburb of Virginia. We are situated in the Darwin Rural area on 5 acres of bush land with tropical gardens and a saltwater swimming pool. There is a variety of bird life, lizards, frogs, and possums. You can feed our friendly butcher birds and King Fishers on the fly from our verandah or pool area. Sit with the fish pond and chat with the turtle who is very shy! We have dogs that live at the property so pets on application only. (we do have a dog cage available if required and can pet sit for a day if required ) We have caravan sites for fully self-contained caravans and unpowered sites in the horse yard. There is a single shower / toilet block available at the top of the driveway. We do have power to some sites, and we would appreciate it if you do not leave air conditioners running while you are off site. If you are travelling in a group, we can accommodate you in a large open area if your group would like to stay together. Each caravan site has its own fireplace for your use. Our location is perfectly situated, only 5 kilometers away from the Darwin River Tavern and a supermarket, making it convenient for your needs. Within a 5 to 10-minute drive, you'll find the enchanting Berry Springs, along with shops and a tavern. Immerse yourself in the refreshing swimming holes, visit the wildlife park, go on exciting barramundi adventures, and enjoy fishing at the nearby park—all easily accessible from our property. If you wish to explore further, it's just a 45-minute drive to Darwin city or a 25-minute drive to Palmerston. For those seeking natural wonders, you can venture to the stunning waterfalls of Litchfield National Park or the popular Dundee beach, each just under an hour's drive away. At our campsite, you can enjoy the warmth and coziness of campfires in the designated area, though only permitted outside fire danger periods to ensure everyone's safety. And yes, your furry friends are more than welcome to join you on your outdoor adventure. Just remember to bring your own toilet paper for added comfort during your stay.

Frank is extremely helpful and quick in relying ti questions. Plenty of room in the yard but no access to the river. There is a toilet but when it rains everything gets very wet and very hot toilet seat in the sun with no roof. The door needs to be fixed so it can shut properly. Very close to Berry Springs and Darwin.

I wish we could have stayed longer. Pete was an amazing host and the property was really nice and not too far from Darwin. The bathroom and shower were beyond all expectations and I don't have a single complaint. If I'm ever in Darwin again, I know where I'll be staying!

This was a great stay..it was by chance we found it advertising for a space to fix our car.. Jennifer could not have done enough for us arranging our stay..we ran into some trouble needing a lift to get parts and Lochy was a great help driving us around to where we needed to go… things you need to know - it is peaceful and away from traffic noise.. there are chooks that say hello each day… the pool was loverly and refreshing and the bathroom was clean and good.. it is a bush setting and although I get eaten by midges and mossies.. I lite the coils early and never had an issue… please clean up after yourselves after you use the bathroom… it is not the hosts job to clean up after every use … thank you Jennifer and Lochy we loved staying at Strangys 🌻

Beautiful campsite and Peter was a great host. A lot of time, love and effort has gone into creating a small nature haven in the suburbs of Darwin, with lots of native trees and the wildlife that they attract. Peter was very friendly and gave us lots of advice on what to do, where to eat and drink etc. I'd highly recommend staying here if looking to camp in the Darwin area

We had a great site with no neighbours, that looked into the bush.There was a track about 20mts in that ran along a beautiful clear creek. The pool was refreshing and pretty The amenities were very clean and modern with each cubicle with its own hand basin ,toilet and shower The staff were wonderful,friendly and helpful The location is perfect for exploring litchfield NP

Yes I would recommend Middle Camp. Lovely spot with great Amenity and water pressure. Especially loved the outdoor private shower. Perhaps our timing could have been earlier in the season as it was very hot and a lot of March flies. But all said it’s a lovely area.

We spent a relaxing 2 weeks at Fi and Rods place. We felt very welcomed and absolutely loved their pets. 2 horses and 4 dogs were all so well natured. The doggos hung out with us a fair bit, it was hard not to get attached. Sad faces all round when we were leaving. Thanks Fi and Rod for sharing your lovely property with us.
