You'll feel like you're a whole world away yet you will only be 2 minutes from the supermarket, 5 minutes from a large shopping centre, and 15 minutes from Darwin's CBD. We are a small boutique site and only have currently 3 sites on the 5 acres. Your site is private and you will be able to enjoy your stay without interference from others. IMPORTANT: Each site can accommodate 2 adults MAX. If you have 3 or 4 adults, you will need to book both sites. Please note Pool site is open all year round and has permanent cover. The weather is warm and the site behind our pool is a nice space to be! It is lovely to be in a space where you are the only camper! The tropical gardens provide privacy and abundant bird life. The property is safe and secluded in the rural suburb of Virginia. We are situated in the Darwin Rural area on 5 acres of bush land with tropical gardens and a saltwater swimming pool. There is a variety of bird life, lizards, frogs, and possums. You can feed our friendly butcher birds and King Fishers on the fly from our verandah or pool area. Sit with the fish pond and chat with the turtle who is very shy! We have dogs that live at the property so pets on application only. (we do have a dog cage available if required and can pet sit for a day if required ) If you are travelling with a horse, we have a stable, water trough and can activate an electric fence for a horse yard. (price on application) We have caravan sites for fully self-contained caravans and we now have a shower and toilet available. If you are travelling in a group, we can accommodate you in a large open area if your group would like to stay together. Each caravan site has its own fireplace for your use. Our lovely quiet 5 acres is home to an incredible amount of native birds, a resident frill necked lizard, 3 dogs who will adopt you, 2 horses who are always up for a pat and a carrot (or several!) an indoor cat (ginger, need we say more?) and us. We are a young couple who have lived and worked in the NT since 2009. We live a quiet lifestyle but only too happy to swap stories over a cold one in the afternoon. Your stay includes full access to power and water, a pool with spa jets and use of the laundry. Mobile phone reception is exceptional but we do have WiFi you are more than welcome to connect to if need be.

The property is 40 acres of carefully maintained virgin rainforest. Our flora and fauna are exactly the same as nearby Litchfield National Park, unfortunately without any waterfalls. We have cleared about 10 acres of undergrowth leaving the trees for shade. Animals and other wildlife are abundant with the lilly pond on our front lawn being the only permanent water other than the Finniss River that they have in the area. We have hundreds of wallabies, goannas, frill necked lizards and plenty of bird life. Our pet Red Tailed Black Cockatoo "Butt" attracts the local wild ones, because she is happy they trust us so you can get closer to them than usual for photos. We have toilets and showers set up for our annual fishing competition which we hold for charity each Queens Birthday weekend. There is also a large wood fired BBQ in the same central area. The fish filleting table and boat cleaning area is also nearby. The local kites and other raptors including sea eagles and if you are lucky may see a wedgetailed eagle come in for fish scraps. Croc and dingo area - be aware!

Darwin is the gateway to the amazing Kakadu National Park. There are many popular waterfront areas with several beaches and green areas like Bicentennial Park. While sightseeing, make sure you visit the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, displaying Southeast Asian and Pacific art. For outdoor enthusiasts, there are some good fishing and mountain biking spots. We are located on a 5-acre block on the edge of town. The top 2 acres are laid out in a tropical garden setting, with the other 3 acres set out with native Darwin plants visited by lots of native animals and birds. You'll feel like you're a whole world away yet you will only be 2 minutes from the supermarket, 5 minutes from a large shopping centre, and 15 minutes from Darwin's CBD. We are a small boutique site and only have currently 3 sites on the 5 acres. Your site is private and you will be able to enjoy your stay without interference from others. IMPORTANT: Each site can accommodate 2 adults MAX. If you have 3 or 4 adults, you will need to book both sites. Please note Pool site is open all year round and has permanent cover. Other sites are dependant on weather and access.

Pitch your tent or park your camper/caravan on level ground, with plenty of space to spread out. We also offer a self-contained cabin. We have 7 acres of beautiful Paperbark Forest often teeming with butterflies we recommend wondering through. Lots of visiting wildlife too, including wallabies and birdlife aplenty. In the neighbouring paddock is our two resident Water Buffalo, a very friendly mother and daughter pair. You're welcome to feed them carrots over the fence - they'll love you for it! Campers will have access to a shower and compost toilet (located in the self-contained cabin - which will not be occupied while we have campers here). You have ample room to park up and enjoy the undercover area with washing machine and dryer and has a bathroom with shower sink and toilet. Outside has a big wooden table and chairs for relaxing under the big ass fan. Take your towels and some drinks over to the newly finished pool area, which is fenced and covered with a big sail, to keep out a bit of sun so it's great for kids and adults to enjoy all year round

Located in the beautiful Dundee Beach, just 1.5 hours from Darwin we have an area that is suitable for self-contained caravans/motor homes & tents. There are no amenities and guests must be fully self contained with their own toilet/shower, a chemical toilet is a must. Maximum of 3 caravans or camper trailers but only one booking at a time so you will have plenty of space and privacy. This is a residential house size bush block with neighbours. Close to the beach where you can enjoy some fishing and beautiful sunsets. We are also 5 minutes from the Dundee boat ramp if you want to experience some offshore fishing. We have a fire pit available for guests to enjoy in the evenings. Please ensure there are no restrictions in place before lighting a fire. BYO firewood. Pets welcome! Children 12 and under are free. Maximum 15 people.

Overview

At the southwestern corner of the Northern Territory, within a short distance of the Western Australia and South Australia state lines, Docker River (Kaltukatjara) is the last (or first) stop for intrepid road-tripping caravanners. Following the dusty red Great Central Road through the remote outback plains is an adventure in itself, passing beneath towering red cliffs and desert landscapes and staying at campsites along the way. Perhaps stop to cool off at Mutitjulu Waterhole, hike around the magnificent rocks of Kata Tjuta/Mount Olga, and visit ancient sites such as Lasseter's Cave. In Docker River, you’ll find a gas station, convenience store, and basic amenities, while the sole Docker River campground is pet-friendly with space for self-contained caravans. Just make sure you bring everything you need, as this remote pitstop has no facilities.
