We are close to both Berry Springs and Litchfield National Park where you can find stunning waterfalls, swimming holes and wildlife to enjoy. The Sandpalms Roadhouse is a two minute drive away. They offer fuel, a cafe style menu, with special nights for a roast or a woodfired pizza, They are a licensed, family friendly establishment. There is often wildlife visiting our property so keep an eye out whilst enjoying your time at camp. Enjoy listening to the sounds of nature while sitting around your campfire. The property is safe and secluded in the rural suburb of Virginia. We are situated in the Darwin Rural area on 5 acres of bush land with tropical gardens and a saltwater swimming pool. There is a variety of bird life, lizards, frogs, and possums. You can feed our friendly butcher birds and King Fishers on the fly from our verandah or pool area. Sit with the fish pond and chat with the turtle who is very shy! We have dogs that live at the property so pets on application only. (we do have a dog cage available if required and can pet sit for a day if required ) If you are travelling with a horse, we have a stable, water trough and can activate an electric fence for a horse yard. (price on application) We have caravan sites for fully self-contained caravans and we now have a shower and toilet available. If you are travelling in a group, we can accommodate you in a large open area if your group would like to stay together. Each caravan site has its own fireplace for your use. Only 5 minutes from Palmerston, 25minutes from Darwin CBD. If you are looking for a local fishing tour we can hook you up with the locals as our neighbour runs Outback Fishing Tours. Our lovely quiet 5 acres is home to an incredible amount of native birds, a resident frill necked lizard, 3 dogs who will adopt you, 2 horses who are always up for a pat and a carrot (or several!) an indoor cat (ginger, need we say more?) and us. We are a young couple who have lived and worked in the NT since 2009. We live a quiet lifestyle but only too happy to swap stories over a cold one in the afternoon. Your stay includes full access to power and water, a pool with spa jets and use of the laundry. Pitch your tent or park your camper anywhere you like on the property, and enjoy access to all amenities. We have easy access for larger vans, good phone reception, and access to water, power and toilet. Just 6km from the famous Berry Springs, and with a pub even closer, makes Thistledo Outback a great option as a base camp to explore the area. The Lakes Resort and Caravan Park is situated in Berry Springs, close to Darwin (56 km), and the City of Palmerston (30 km), and is central to the whole range of Outer Darwin attractions. There's plenty of open space to enjoy the peaceful natural beauty, abundant bird life, bushwalking, and the noises of night-time in the Bush. The Territory Wildlife Park and the swimming holes of Berry Springs Nature Park are a very short drive (5 mins) and you can comfortably explore Litchfield Park (60kms - 40 Mins) and many other Top End attractions from The Lakes. With grassed shady camping and caravan areas, drive-in / drive-out caravan sites as well as comfortable air-conditioned cabins, there's accommodation for everyone. We have all the facilities you've come to expect and more: a large fully-tiled ablution block, free gas BBQs in the camp kitchen, a laundry area, and a licensed bistro. Your well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome here too! There is a Sunday Buffett Roast every Sunday in busy season and happy hour at our Bar from 4pm to 6pm.

You have ample room to park up and enjoy the undercover area with washing machine and dryer and has a bathroom with shower sink and toilet. Outside has a big wooden table and chairs for relaxing under the big ass fan. Take your towels and some drinks over to the newly finished pool area, which is fenced and covered with a big sail, to keep out a bit of sun so it's great for kids and adults to enjoy all year round
