Walkabout Wildlife Sanctuary

We are a sanctuary for rescued wildlife needing lifetime care, and breed-for-release rewilding programs for endangered animals. Walkabout Wildlife Sanctuary is a Heritage-listed Aboriginal Cultural landscape with ancient sites dating back more than 4,000 years.

If you love the bush and animals roaming free, if you want to visit ancient Aboriginal sites and to learn about bush tucker and bush medicine, or if you just enjoy bushwalking, you’ll love Walkabout Wildlife Sanctuary.

You can relax at the visitor center with a great cup of coffee. Visit for an hour or stay for the whole day. Or better yet, you can check in for an overnight experience in one of our Eco-Cabins or Safari Camping tents and enjoy roaming our grounds at night with our nocturnal animals!

Down by the Hawkesbury

Originally settled in 1889 "Bobs Grant" this lovely property and the surrounding land was originally used for farming but is now mostly turf farms.

Enjoy our little getaway down by the Hawkesbury River only 10 minutes from historic Windsor. A beautiful river shack for your use exclusively, including fire pit with direct access to the Hawkesbury river.

Destroyed in the March and July 2022 floods, we have now re-built and are looking forward to welcoming back our guests.

Bring your caravans, tent or swag - all are welcome! Unfortunately, boats are not.

Relax and enjoy the serenity whilst being only 1 hour from Sydney.

We offer the site to one group only, a maximum of 20 guests. However note, we are not a place for rowdy groups and parties. Groups are welcome here to enjoy the time with their family and friends, play a little music and relax by the river.  The river can get busy (which is great after the floods as it has been dead for so long) and so can the road across the river but if you are enjoying your family and friends you won't even notice!

We have one basic toilet, and one river water shower available too! Please bring your own drinking water. 

​Fires are only permitted when allowed, in the designated areas only.

Rock Shelf Campsite at Curl Curl

This campsite is situated on top of a beautiful sandstone rock shelf in Curl Curl, NSW. The site has views across the valley to North Curl Curl.  We keep native stingless bees and other beautiful native animals.

Located only 300m from the Beaches best surf beach which has two beautiful rock pools to explore.  Especially good for people that are not used to the surf.

The 33km Northern Beaches Coast Walk is nearby.  Cafes with views are everywhere. Only 30 minutes drive to Ku-ring-gai National Park. Close to W'gah mall and public transport for easy access to Manly and the city.

Pets are welcome and we have a fire pit available.  Please bring your own firewood.

Above Syd at Trigonometry point

Situated on the edge of the Blue Mountains escarpment, our property has sweeping views overlooking the Sydney basin all the way to the coast. Camp atop our trigonometry point (the highest point in the district) and watch over the city as the lights turn on at dusk. Perfect for NYE and Australia Day fireworks 🎆 or some weekend tranquility just one hour's drive from Sydney.You can use the property as a base to explore the area. It's only 30 mins to Bents Basin, a deep waterhole that forms part of a gorge on the Nepean River, offering swimming, fishing and walking tracks.We are pet friendly! Campfires are also allowed, so you can enjoy the spot around a crackling fire.Campers must have own amenities and leave no trace.

Dharawal Camp

Dharawal Camp offers all the benefits of glamping. Enjoy a peaceful night's rest in your tent/vehicle, then hop out of bed and enjoy the peaceful surrounds of the cabin with access to a kitchen area supplying fresh rainwater. With the secluded bush surroundings and the quiet, it's hard to believe you're only an hour away from Sydney.

You might even see a Koala

There is strictly no accomodation in the Cabin.

The camp features a camping toilet and bathing facilities, a kitchen washing area, a recreation space and dining table when the weather is bad. All you need to do is roll out your swag.
Campers are encouraged to take their rubbish with them.

There is access to power for campervans/caravans.

Warm your toes at the outdoor fireplace whilst you chat with friends. (Please bring own firewood).
You will be a 10 minute drive from the beautiful Dharawal National Park which has wonderful swimming holes and bush walks.

The site is 15 minutes drive from Campbelltown, which offers all amenities of a large metropolitan city.

Silky Oaks Flower Farm

Silky Oaks is one of Australia’s largest private collections of Native

Australian plants. Set on 30 acres; there is 3 lakes, manicured gardens, a cut-flower plantation, rainforest, and orchard to wander.

 Our Glamping Van's are Set direct on lakefront and our BYO camp spots are in the flower plantation.

Oakdale is a lovely rural area; you will pass cow paddocks, mountains and beautiful country vistas on your drive to the property. The area is a mix of houses, hobby farmers, homes on acreage, equestrian centres, produce growers and National Park.

There is a glorious look-out in the National Park overlooking the Warragamba dam. Some days it is swept with clouds; enveloping you into the majestic heavens. It’s an easy ten min drive away. There is local towns 15mins drive for eating out and getting coffee.
