Proudly standing on 50-acres of historic farmland once owned by the earliest saw-milling pioneers of the area is our architecturally designed American style prairie barn.
Perfect for a large group of friends, families, social club getaways or couples seeking a jumbo-sized space to chill, The Barn at Mill Creek Ranch offers guests the chance to experience the natural attractions of the Yarramalong Valley and the Olney State Forest right from its country-luxe doorstep - an easy 1 hour drive north from Sydney.
Purposefully built to embrace the beauty of its surrounds, the open-plan layout of The Barn provides guests with a boutique accommodation experience on a grand scale. Double entry-way doors from the tiled verandah open into a saloon style bar area, complete with 3-metre long blue-gum timber bar top and the first of two cosy indoor fireplaces.
The bathroom and shower are accessible on this level and for those that simply can’t escape work, connect to the Wi-Fi and take a seat at the bankers desk overlooking the front pasture and driveway for peaceful productivity.
Luxury bed-linen and soft towels await in the upper level sleeping quarters, offering restful accommodation for up to 5 guests in an open-plan loft layout, with views of the farm and bordering State Forest.
The vast main living area of The Barn is dedicated to entertaining and offers guests the use of a fully equipped and amply stocked kitchen, a dining table with seating for 10, a cinema-sized television with Bluetooth connectivity soundbar and authentic leather chesterfield lounges for relaxing by the main indoor fireplace.
With the click of a button, double roller doors on either side of the main living room seamlessly connect the indoors to the outdoors, revealing a generous paved patio area and outdoor fire-pit. This unique design feature enables guests ease of movement throughout The Barn, the option to cocoon during the cooler months and a light-filled airy space during the summer season.
Escape to the country and unwind at The Barn with fresh forest air, the glow of a campfire and a sky full of stars.
Cuddle up on the leather chesterfields in front of both indoor fireplaces. Enjoy a cold beer and a BBQ on the patio as the sun slips into the late afternoon. Roast marshmallows by the outdoor fire-pit and tell tall tales under the stars. Hit the light switch and stretch out on the shag-pile rug for a movie on the big screen.
Roll out your yoga mat at first light and meditate to the early morning bird song. Enjoy a dawn coffee on the front verandah and watch quietly for wallabies. Take a stroll around the property and say 'Hello' to our family of cows.
Grab your boots and binoculars and take a nature walk through the pristine ghost gums and into the surrounding State Forest.
Get competitive on the half-sized basketball court. Giggle with your kids as you double-bounce them on the ground-level trampoline. Catch the wind in your hair on the zip-line (adult supervision required). Challenge the family to a board-game or a game of cards. Scan the sky for wedge-tail eagles, parrots, yellow-tailed black cockatoos and listen out for owls. Be a kid with your kids and round them up for a game of 'Spotlight' under the night sky.
Other Nearby Activities: Book a horse-riding or mountain-biking adventure with one of the local tour operators. Test yourself and the kids on a ropes and flying fox course at Treetops Adventure Park (Highly recommended - advance bookings essential). Take the kids for a milkshake and a canoe ride at The Wyong Milk Factory. Enjoy a family fun day at Amazement Farm & Fun Park. Visit the Australian Reptile Park at Somersby.
Guests of 'The Barn' have exclusive access to the trampoline and half-sized basketball court and are welcome to explore the surrounding farm and bordering state forest. Please note - guests of our sister Airbnb property 'The Cottage' may also be on the farm exploring and we ask you to respect their privacy by not visiting 'The Cottage' and maintaining social distancing guidelines.
We recommend sturdy walking shoes or gumboots for exploring the farm surrounds.
Country nights can be chilly so bring a beanie and warm jacket to wear by the outdoor fire-pit. (firewood is provided).
