3 x 25 acre blocks were originally subdivided prior to the 1980's by the previous owners of Biara for each his 3 sons. He gifted each of his sons one of these 25 acre parcels of land. It seems the 3 sons were not keen to stay around and eventually all three blocks were sold off. The Gateway is the end of these original 3 blocks. The site allows mainly for camping and relaxing although there are numerous dirt roads to explore, Mudgee wineries close by and Burrendong Dam not far away (accessible via Hill End Road near Erudgere). Hargraves is also known for it's alluvial gold deposits and fossickers still go there regularly to check out Louisa Creek. There is 15km's of dirt road which needs to be traveled to reach the property. Dependent on weather, and if it has been graded recently, this road can be in varying states of repair. In heavy rain it may be difficult to get 2WD access via the public road due to the clay content in the road . Kangaroo, wallaby, owl species, kookaburra, echidna, snakes, various lizards, including shinglebacks, are often seen on these roads and the property.

All sites are pet friendly, but pets must be kept on leash and cleaned up after. Note: The National Park holds their annual wild dog baiting program from 20/5/24 - 8/10/24 Which is done along our boundary on Bow River. It is safer not to have your dog in this area at this time. If you decide to, make sure it is kept on leash at all times and doesn't eat anything that could be laying around. Campfires are allowed when there are no restrictions and campers can collect their own small firewood. Cut firewood is available for $10 per/large bundle, cash only.
