No agriculture or farms upstream, only one other like-minded property owner. Secluded, but hiding smack bang in the middle of everywhere! From vertiginous sandstone cliffs on which epipetrics cling tight, right through to palm-filled rainforests, and with two quite different creek systems (including a monster waterfall), you'll be spoiled for things to do and places to explore - without even leaving the property! HISTORY This land is Gumbaynggirr land. Please be particularly mindful of our First Nation's long presence on this land. In the 1800's, white men came seeking Red Cedar, closely followed by settlers having a go at dairying; though logging has remained this area's mainstay. This special property, despite last being selectively logged about 50 years ago, hosts many huge old-growth trees remaining steadfast for your discovery and wonder. And many more are continuing to grow out too. About 35 years ago about nine of this property's eastern-most 104 acres became part of a far larger nashi pear orchard which filled much of the flats of this top end of the valley that you see today. Ultimately they failed to set good commercial fruit, and the rootstocks took over. You can see remnant rows of these trees just south of the property, from along the road. (Beware though - they have spikes that could puncture Caterpillar tracks!) MORE RECENTLY extensive lantana control efforts have been undertaken as we now move into revegetating with native species and implementing a permaculture plan. From vertiginous sandstone cliffs on which epipetrics cling tight, right through to palm-filled rainforests, and with two quite different creek systems (including a monster waterfall), you'll be spoiled for things to do and places to explore - without even leaving the property! HISTORY This land is Gumbaynggirr land. Please be particularly mindful of our First Nation's long presence on this land. In the 1800's, white men came seeking Red Cedar, closely followed by settlers having a go at dairying; though logging has remained this area's mainstay. This special property, despite last being selectively logged about 50 years ago, hosts many huge old-growth trees remaining steadfast for your discovery and wonder. And many more are continuing to grow out too. About 35 years ago about nine of this property's eastern-most 104 acres became part of a far larger nashi pear orchard which filled much of the flats of this top end of the valley that you see today. Ultimately they failed to set good commercial fruit, and the rootstocks took over. You can see remnant rows of these trees just south of the property, from along the road. (Beware though - they have spikes that could puncture Caterpillar tracks!) MORE RECENTLY extensive lantana control efforts have been undertaken as we now move into revegetating with native species and implementing a permaculture plan. We finally returned to "Heaven on Earth" this weekend just gone and once again it did not disappoint! The Blue Lagoon is simply "Magical" and it was a great place to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary in style. Having the place to ourselves and indulging in a beautiful night-time hot bath in the new stone tub overlooking the magical lagoon is something to remember. Laura & Dougie are fabulous hosts and also very accommodating. We can't thank them enough for sharing this wonderful piece of heaven with us once again. Can't wait for our next trip back to The Blue Lagoon!!

A beautiful spot with lovely hosts. We booked last minute and took our camper trailer with our dog and 3 year old and everyone loved it. We ended up moving to the western finger because it was a bit more spacious and secluded. We enjoyed a few walks, wildlife, relaxing and the curious and very friendly horses that paid us a visit in the morning. We had an amazing time and will hopefully be back soon. 100% recommend it to anyone looking to get back to nature!

Wow, words can not do justice the amazing time we had at the Ranch! The river views, the hospitality, the tranquility & the fire baths were just magical. Shanti has truly created a slice of heaven out there. For the icing on the cake, make sure to book the horse trek + swim.. i’ve done many treks in my life and this was the best. Plenty of trotting and cantering through stunning scenery, finished by a swim with the horses. Shanti’s way with horses is so special to witness, you can tell they love her as much as she loves them. We will be back, with friends in tow.

Beautifully maintained camping area we had a huge grassy and flat spot by the river with a fire pit. Appreciated the çlean composting toilet. The swimming hole was deep and had a flat granite rock in the middle of the river that the kids spent hours jumping off. Stuart was an easy going host who offered us early arrival and late pack up. We had a wonderful weekend!

Great spot by the river, we took our dogs on a kayak down the river and they loved it 😁Cleanest composting toilet I've ever seen! Arne gave us plenty of time to settle in after our arrival time before coming down for a quick check-in and home-grown spinach delivery. The spot is close to Battery falls, and nested in beautiful forest which he gave us a brief history of. It felt secluded enough, but we had a good chat with some locals by the river who'd spotted a platypus not 20m from the road crossing! The fireflies surrounding the camp were pretty magical too. Would recommend 🌞
