We are easy to pull into and can cater for all size vans. Roads are all freshly gravelled and well maintained to cater for 2wd access also. Toilet and Water provided but respect us by taking your own rubbish with you. Beautiful little stream with rapids and rock holes to keep yourself cool in summer. More than welcome to bring hiking shoes, mountain bikes to go explore. As long as you respect the farm rules and if the gate is shut you shut it behind you. No 4wding is permitted on the farm. Animal feeding is an activity we provide with food available to buy for the animals. Firewood is also available to purchase on arrival Dogs allowed on leash, please respect all the other campers on site and generators are welcome to be used but need to be turned off at a respectable time. Dunoon village is cute yet, very practical. There is a general store, bottle shop and they sell ice, Mechanic, Post Office and the best bit, you can even go out for dinner or lunch depending on the day, at the Dunoon Sports Club/ Pub or Channon Tavern, then head back to your secluded country camp and cool off in the beautiful creek or warm up and enjoy some quality time around the camp fire!

Wake up to songs of native birds. Bring your own horse, guitar, or your writing book and loll away the hours nurturing your soul in paradise. All guests have shared access to the 15m resort-style magnesium pool and direct beach access from the property. We are a wildlife sanctuary and an operating farm with horses, chickens, ducks, pigeons and a peacock. There are dogs on the property to protect the chickens and other animals from predators, so please don’t bring any pets of your own. Enjoy Sugar Beach Ranch with your horse, bring them along for the holiday, and plenty of beach and trail rides. Paddock accommodation available. As we are located in the secluded and sleepy cane fields of South Ballina there is limited access to shops, cafes, restaurants, etc. The Burns Point Ferry is the best way to get to us, it runs from 5:30am until 12.30am daily, consistently running back and forth. An approx. 8min journey each way and costs $.00 each way, payable by credit card only. So you can easily go into Ballina town for all shops, cafes, restaurants, etc. If the ferry isn't for you, you can drive to Ballina via Wardell on River Drive. The bungalow is located approx. 25m from the main residence, and the campsite is located approx. 300m from the main residence tucked away in the paddocks and forest. We are onsite and available if needed. Sugar Beach Ranch is an operating farm with staff onsite caring for animals and maintaining the grounds. All care is taken to ensure minimal disruption to guests.

Sugar Beach Ranch is one of the most secluded treasures in the Northern Rivers, only 40 mins from Byron Bay NSW and within 30 mins to Ballina, Bangalow and surrounding scenic waterfalls. The property offers a two-bedroom bungalow and a secluded campsite for self-contained campers, in addition to our other variety of services including retreats, equine therapy, weddings and venue hire. Our property is surrounded by the crystal clear ocean, a beautiful rural outlook and rainforest walks. Sugar Beach Ranch offers you a private and picturesque beachfront experience. Simply put it's ‘Nature’s Playground’. Sugar Beach Ranch is a special place... a place of relaxation and reflection. We want guests to enjoy the break away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Wake up to songs of native birds. Bring your own horse, guitar, or your writing book and loll away the hours nurturing your soul in paradise. All guests have shared access to the 15m resort-style magnesium pool and direct beach access from the property. We are a wildlife sanctuary and an operating farm with horses, chickens, ducks, pigeons and a peacock. There are dogs on the property to protect the chickens and other animals from predators, so please don’t bring any pets of your own. Enjoy Sugar Beach Ranch with your horse, bring them along for the holiday, and plenty of beach and trail rides. Paddock accommodation available. As we are located in the secluded and sleepy cane fields of South Ballina there is limited access to shops, cafes, restaurants, etc. The Burns Point Ferry is the best way to get to us, it runs from 5:30am until 12.30am daily, consistently running back and forth. An approx. 8min journey each way and costs $.00 each way, payable by credit card only. So you can easily go into Ballina town for all shops, cafes, restaurants, etc. If the ferry isn't for you, you can drive to Ballina via Wardell on River Drive. The bungalow is located approx. 25m from the main residence, and the campsite is located approx. 300m from the main residence tucked away in the paddocks and forest. We are onsite and available if needed. Sugar Beach Ranch is an operating farm with staff onsite caring for animals and maintaining the grounds. All care is taken to ensure minimal disruption to guests.

Phil is a great guy with a beautiful property. He was really friendly and cool to chat to but laid back and easy going. The space is so big that you can easily find a private spot to your liking. The mozzies are hardcore but not a problem if you bring some heavy duty bug repellent. There were a few other people camping as it was peak season during summer holidays but we felt secluded in our own beautiful temporary home in nature… will definitely be coming back!

Oh my god. Mosquito central! Phil the host is so lovely, and we really enjoyed staying here but man we were not prepared for the influx of the mozzies. None of our heavy duty repellants cut the mustard, and even our super smoky fires only staved them off for a little bit. We tried to go for a fish at the creek but could only last 10-20 minutes before driven out with bugs. One of our dogs broke out in a huge bumpy rash from them, and you could see a black cloud of them following the dogs everywhere even with repellant on them. We are avid campers, but have never experienced this level of them before. Mozzies aside, the camp site was so pretty. Lovely and flat, with beautiful bushlands around. The more private sites are towards the bushland, otherwise you’re very exposed. The camp was very well maintained and it’s clear Phil puts a lot of effort into this place. There was chopped up wood and limbs all over for firewood and he was more than happy for our pups to run off lead. The camp horse is also incredibly friendly and has to be one of the most tolerant horses I have ever met… not even tilting an ear at our boisterous dogs. We definitely would stay here again, just not any time at all near mosquito season!

Firstly, Kate is an amazing host. We were made feel so welcome right from our arrival. The site was quite private and incredibly quiet. The only traffic noise was from the half dozen cars a day meandering down the country lane which is a no through road, so only local traffic. Sites are reasonably level however a standard levelling kit may help but not essential. Kate provided ample firewood to enjoy an evening fire while just looking at the starts. An abundance of wildlife is evident in the sub tropical surrounds. So close to some amazing townships as well as beaches. I highly recommend this piece of paradise. We stayed 5 nights and were not disappointed.

A great experience at Ginger Nut Farm! Beautiful land and trees, refreshing swims in the creek and most notably, a great sense of community and wonderful people. Perfect place if you're camping with dogs so much for them to explore. A range of cool activities were offered as well such as glow worm nature walk, basket making and body painting. The surrounding areas of Nimbin and Kyogle offer beautiful scenery for day trips and Hanging Rock Falls only 10 min drive away is well worth checking out. Definitely would recommend staying at Ginger Nut Farm, as a young(ish) female I always felt safe, comfortable and included.

Super close to The General Store to stock up on some basics and grab fuel as we left. Highly recommend. Could easily stay longer to explore this beautiful area. Thanks for having us!

This place had some of the best kept grounds I have ever seen at any Hipcamp. The lawns were mowed to perfection. Perfectly level grounds and so much room to spread out for privacy. If you are looking for a private, extremely quiet and peaceful place to unwind, wet a line or just enjoy wide open spaces, this is it. Kangaroos visit at dawn and dusk, along with a very friendly horse. Dogs are welcome too.

The boys have created an inclusive space accommodating both community and privacy. The powered sites are seperate from the main camp with only 2 sites available on the edge of a small gully with a beautiful leafy outlook over a dam. Closer to the river is the main camp paddock with porta-loos and a bush shower. Everything was well maintained and clean. My stay was peaceful and quiet, I was able to rest, go for long dog walks, swim and participate in a workshop. They offer activities like a glow worm night walk and occasional workshops like basket making and life drawing. Its a safe space with many lifestyles coming together free from judgement. Women travelling alone, its safe. This property is evolving and growing with conscious environmental rehabilitation. Thanks for opening and sharing your place 🙏🏼
