Miranda Pine Campground
Description
Miranda Pine is looking very fine. Take in the sweeping ridge top vistas of the Cuyama Valley—from up here you’re close enough to Santa Maria but far enough away to feel like you’re back in the wilderness. Make sure to pack in your own water and pack out your trash!

I camped here in early August, and was lucky to have a full moon and no wind. The campsite is about 9 miles off of the highway beyond a forest gate, and the road is groomed dirt. There are a few loose rocks and rutted out areas, so I advise taking something with above average clearance (4wd not necessary).
There are three available places to camp, each with a picnic table and fire ring. There are other potential areas, but the space is not large. The sites sit atop the mountain so you will have an almost 360 degree view of the valley areas below. The view is vast and beautiful. Other than a pit toilet (with a gorgeous view) and the above mentioned, there are no other amenities. Drive all of Sierra Madre if possible.
