We stayed at El Capitan and loved it there. We enjoyed the campsite which sits high above the ocean with some magnificent views of the Pacific. Our campsite was large and full of chipmunks!
The beach was rocky and full of driftwood which we used to build an awesome campfire. You can hike along the beach and enjoy all of the wildlife along the shore.
We’ve been here several times. This is a fantastic escape from LA. 2hrs away. You can bring the clothes on your back or go all out. Cabins, yurts, canvas tents. We’ve done it all. Each has a unique charm. The tents are fun for a couple nights just hanging out and having fun. I’ve used the cabins to really unwind, soak in the giant tub, and self care the hell out of yourself! We even escaped here after putting our beloved cat down to cry for two days straight. This place is like a warm hug. A fantastic place for kids but also perfect for a single or couple. Everything is so spread out that you all kinda find your spot. Lots of wildlife and farm animals a short hike away. Deer, raccoons, skunk ;) have all visited us.
hardly camping, but easy with kids
I am trying to figure out if the tent/cabins shown in the first photo are really at the SB? I cant find any mention of them on the reservation site? Does anyone know?
Don't stay in a site near the freeway
It is incredible! From the tents to the yurts to the cabins you can't go wrong with any. Love this place 😊
Great spot, close to beach. Crowded.
The group campsite is right off the highway. Train tracks also run along the site. This means that trains come all times of the day and night.
