Our 230+ acre family cow farm most of which was purchased 60 years ago by my father and mother. My two siblings and me were raised here and later bought joining land that now makes up the 230+acres. We all still live on the farm with our families. We all enjoy the peace and quiet that you will find here. Sounds of our cows, wildlife and the occasional rumble of a distant train is all you will hear on our farm. We are surrounded by farmland and forest. There are a few different attractions 5 - 10 minutes away (lake Robinson) it has a boat landing and plenty of fish, (Carolina Sandhills national wildlife refuge)it has plenty of hiking trails and roads perfect for bicycling, small mountain called (Sugarloaf Mountain)perfect for hiking. Local peach/strawberry farm (McLeod farm) with produce/gift shop/free museum/restaurant called (Big's), they have pick your own strawberries in the spring and early summer. In nearby Hartsville and Cheraw there are several golf courses and places for Kayak rentals. Neptune Island waterpark in Hartsville. We have a hidden Creek that is fun to hike to by way of a trail. Small pond for fishing, plenty of room for hiking and bike riding ( grassy, sandy, rolling hills). Beautiful hills to camp on and watch an unobstructed view of the Carolina sunset and sunrise that peak through wooded acreage. Choose a tent camp location or pull/drive your RV/camper right near our cow pasture and watch the cows graze. Fresh drinking water at campsites. Bathroom and sun heated shower. Pick wild blackberries in early summer and wild grapes in late summer early fall, and we may share some of our home made jellies with you. We welcome family groups year round. At night enjoy the sounds of wildlife while watching the highly visible twinkling stars and tracing the many constellations and if lucky see a shooting star or two.

We went on a 390-day roadtrip from North Carolina all the way to California. Hit 22 states + Tijuana, and stayed at SEVERAL Hipcamps, National Parks, and RV Campgrounds. Our familiarity with the camping mindset enables us to adapt and cater to your unique camping needs with ease.
We loved all of our Hipcamps across the country and now that we’re in our home state of North Carolina, are so excited to share our land with other Hipcampers!
Halfway between Asheville and Emerald Isle, our land is located in charming Wadesboro, North Carolina.
We live on-site in our RV. My husband and I are passionate about growing organic food and are currently building up our garden and other accommodations here. We will continue to grow and build on this property over time. A 3/4 mile hike to the Taylor Family graveyard is marked with ribbons to guide you to one of the of the many family graveyards. *** A new fun feature for kids is the introduction of our dear friend Debbie Beasley"s art to the trails here in the New Forest. Scattered along the many trails are rocks painted by the one and only Debbie Beasley with cute fluorescent/3-D scenes of nature. Children can keep them as souvenirs from their New Forest camping adventure, or enjoy them while here then re-hide them for other children to find. ❤️ Come see for yourself. If you are looking for a modern, crowded campground this isn't it. We carved our 43 acre horse farm out of wild swampy land in 2007 and finished the barndeminium in 2008. My husband is retired from the Air Force and works full time doing the chores. I worked full time as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, but I just retired in May of 2024. I have a side hobby making homemade jams, pickles and flavored goat cheese spreads. We love the peacefulness of where we live...although the chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, guinea fowl, peacocks, goats and horses do get a little loud come feeding time. We have different sites, please read each description or message me before you book a stay. We are constantly looking for ways to upgrade or make our farm more fun to visit.

The Old House

The McKenzie Home Place has been in the same family since the late 1700ś with craftsmanship of the home dating it to 1820.
The McKenzies played a big role in the building of Pinehurst with the Grist Mill Parties and even
the famous little cabin aptly named
The Womens Exchange in Pinehurst, NC being purchased from Author McKenzie who himself was raised in in this beautiful home.

that was once inhabited by our Native American Indian as many Indian Points have been pulled from the fields on the property.
In its last days as a working farm it was a tobacco farm. There are remnants of the past life scattered around. Including The Green Barn;
a 2 story tobacco barn where the tobacco was strung on tobacco sticks, hung on rafters to be
cured and taken to market.
Memories of times past linger all around, after 200 years it is still standing and ready for
many more memories to carry on for generations to come....I am only its keeper for now, until I pass and it is then up to the
future McKenzie generations to keep the light burning....
