Welcome to Port Macquarie's 'The Hatch Farm'; a pet friendly, interactive animal and fishing farm stay! A 150-acre working farm with a stunning outlook over the saltwater Maria River (with a rustic boat ramp and waterway running into the Hastings River). Located on the Mid North Coast NSW, 4kms off the Pacific Highway, and a quick 13/15-minute drive to the holiday township of Port Macquarie. Port Macquarie is known for its beautiful beaches, coastal scenery and walks, koala hospital, and local strawberry and tomato picking. Bernard and Susan are custodians of the farm, primarily using the land for poultry (egg), pig, and goat farming. They are transitioning to an off-grid and eco-friendly lifestyle for their retirement. The Hatch Farm is home to many animals, most of whom are rescues - including border collies, cavalier king charles spaniels, chickens, ducks, pigs, sheep, goats, miniature horses, cows, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. There is plenty to do and see around the farm from complete relaxation, interacting with the friendly animals (there is usually a variety of babies to cuddle!), to casting a line or launching your boat from the rustic boat ramp. Friendly pets welcome.

Best campsite we stayed at

This was by far our best camp stop. Had the place completely to ourselves, were greeted at the door by the best border collie ever (Sally) and Bernard. Sally hung out with us all night and in the morning we got to cuddle with her beautiful little 8 week old puppies.

What a magical place!!

A beautiful property with lovely and friendly hosts! The view of the river, family photo opportunities by this beautiful river were in abundance! Rained the whole day on the second day but not even this could dampen our spirits. Susan even came around in the pouring rain to make sure everyone was ok and that we didn’t need anything! We loved all of the animals and friendly visits from Sally the dog on a regular basis throughout our stay. Sally was sooo sweet!! Amenities were spotlessly clean and the whole property very well maintained with exciting plans explained by the hosts of new things to come. I could rave on and on about this stay but I’m running out of words allowed here so I will just say….we will be back on a yearly basis with our family. Next time we are bringing our tinny and the fishing rods as they tell me there is also some great fishing to be had here. All in all Bernie and Susan, 10 out of 10! I cannot fault this Hipcamp💞

Favourite camp spot!!

If you’re looking for a beautiful escape along the river, surrounded by cute farm animals and friendly dogs, this is the spot for you! Susan was great and took the time to show us around the farm to see the horses, pigs, chickens, sheep, goats and cows. They also have the sweetest puppies at the moment. The setting is absolutely stunning, we witnessed one of the best sunsets along the river. Also a great fishing spot during the day. You can take a kayak out too for free. Thanks for the amazing stay guys!

Awesome 👌

Had an awesome time at the hatch with the family. The hosts and staff couldn't be more chilled and friendlier. So many cool animals for the kids to see and great spot to kick back and wet a line. Will definitely be back hopefully soon.
