The Groundswell Guest Camp would love to welcome you to enjoy an exclusive camp in a tranquil unique natural bush setting, ideal for families, bird watching naturalist and artist. The camp is located on 100 acres of unique grasstree forest in Taloumbi, NSW. We are just 10 minutes off the Pacific Highway, between Maclean and Brooms Head. The camp is currently set up for private use for one booking, where the guest booking can park at the covered deck space and have use of the deck, shower and toilet for just themselves. The deck is a great spot to enjoy the rising sun, yoga and meditation. Hooks are attached to the post for hammocks, so please relax and enjoy your time at Groundswell. Groups are welcome. Please contact the host for group bookings. This could be organized where the deck area is a communal space and the shower and toilet are shared by the group. All campsites are flat and some cleared play spaces available for kicking balls, games, frisbee, etc. There is a sink with filtered rain water on the deck, an instant gas hot water shower behind the main deck and also a compost toilet. There is a small solar power set up to run the sink and shower pump. The site in OFF-GRID on tank water only, so it is important to be mindful of water use and make sure taps are off when not in use. In consideration of future guest do not wash your motor home or caravan with the tank water, or refill your tanks as this site is rainwater only. Bring your own cooker, lights and chairs. Pets are welcome, but must be on a leash if guest are away or if they are a threat to wildlife. There are families of kangaroos, wallabies and endangered coastal emu’s that we love and would like to keep safe. We are very lucky to have the emus here and provide information as citizen scientist to those researching them. If you fancy spotlighting in the evening, you may see sugar gliders, micro bats, possums, bandicoots, and owls on the prowl. There is a small orchard next to the camp site and you can help yourself to any ripe fruits. We continue to work on permaculture projects and improve the sites design with a good vision for the future of the Groundswell Project. You can swim in the dam when full. Enjoy a meditation or sunset drink over looking the dam and admiring the wildlife that also use the watering hole. Fires are allowed, except during total fire bans, in the contained pits only and put out at night. There is plenty of firewood to collect on site. Mosquitos come and go depending on weather or season. It is good to be prepared with coils, nets on your bed or sprays just in case. Access the camp at the front gate (address provided at booking) and follow the sign to the Hipcamp. Access is 2wd accessible and good for caravans, or larger RV’s etc. The Spa at Groundswell is now open at the owners home. Please contact the host for massage and magnesium bath menu. Limited times available. We are currently working on a network of trails inside of the 100 acres. Until complete, parts of the perimeter of the property are cleared and can be walked from Grasstree Drive to Wallaby Lane. There is a "TRAIL" sign at the start of the trail behind the orchard. Please take all of your rubbish and recycling. There is a waste station in Townsend on the way back to the highway or at the Yuraygir National Park if staying there after us. Phone service is best with Telstra. Our nearest beaches are also just 5-10 minutes at the Yuraygir National Park, Lake Aragon/ Redcliff Campground entrance and the beautiful quiet beach town of Brooms Head. Brooms Head has a general store and a snack shack with great snacks, coffee and convenient essentials. Dogs are not allowed in the national park, but there is a dog beach north from the Lake Cakora bridge in Brooms Head and also back beach in Brooms Head, south of the headland. Fishing, boating, spear fishing, surfing, diving, snorkeling, kayaking, kite surfing, motor bike trails (Candole State Forest), coastal walks, beach walks, etc. The Yuraygir coastal walk spans 65 km’s from Angourie in Yamba, to Red Rock. Groundswell Guest Camp
Probably one of our favourite camps. Cicadas are very loud during the day but it’s so peaceful at night. We felt safe leaving our boat and belongings to travel into Yamba during the day. Our 3 doggos loved the dam!

Well set up site in a beautiful coastal bush setting. Easy all weather access for our campervan towing a teardrop camper. The covered deck area is a great area to relax. Easy drive to Brooms Head beach for an off leash walk for the dogs and great coffee. It was a delightful stay.

This is Eden.
So close to nature, this was the ultimate escape to paradise. Loved the solitude and absolute privacy. Easy to get to, no problem access, 100 per cent easy drive in and park. Undercover provided an escape from the burning sun and wooden decking meant a zero transmission of dirt inside our van. A cicadaa symphony accompanied our stay during daylight hours while a group of curious kangaroos visited to stop and watch. The toilet and shower were a real blessing, particularly a cooling shower at the end of a sweaty day. A great stay and thank you Lauren for sharing your eden with us.

Amazing camping in unique setting
G roundswell Guest Camp is a fantastic private bush retreat. The site is well-equipped with a hot shower, clean toilet, camp sink, and a sheltered area. The swing was a hit with our young child, and the small orchard added a lovely touch. We enjoyed spotting wildlife and exploring the hiking trail, making it a great mix of comfort and nature. We felt relaxed and had plenty of fun—would happily stay longer next time!

Lovely
We loved this camping spot. We weren’t expecting it to be si private and were pleasantly surprised. The area is very big, surrounded by nature. There’s a compost toilet and gas heated shower with a view of the bush which is lovely. A great place to disconnect.
